My local dealership has some good deals on a few 2021s left. I think the UConnect 5 is the big difference in comparing the Laramie trim level. I am a gadget / tech guy, is UConnect 5 worth it? It is about 4k difference with everything else appearing the same. Thanks!

Uconnect 5.0 is very user friendly.. but worth 4k? Not to me especially if you can get a killer deal on an ‘21

IMO I don’t think it would be worth $4K even if it was working flawlessly, but apparently quite a few people are having issues. My 2019 had issues with the 12inch UC4 that took about a year and a half of promised updates before it actually got updated and started working properly. Just my 2 cents.

Welcome to the forum . I don't even use the 12" U4 to it's full potential so I'd save the 4K for other upgrades .

Eventually we’ll be able to buy all the UC5 components and program them to work. Jimmy07 (a person here) is in the process of figuring it out now. The cost will probably be 1000 to 1200 which is significantly cheaper than 4000, so something to keep in mind.

Another difference between 2021 and 2022 Laramies is blind spot monitoring/cross path detection. Many 2021 Laramies will have those features, but no 2022 Laramies do. If those are important to you it might be a good idea to see if any of the 2021's you're considering have them.

Yep, to me that would be the deciding factor: if the 2021 has BSM, I’d get the 2021, no question.

Something to consider would be reliability. Uconnect4 is 3-4 years old now and has seen numerous updates even as recently as a month ago and so most of the kinks are worked out. You may need to wait 12-24 months to get the same reliability out of the UC5 system.

I'd love to have UC5 on my car but wouldn't pay $4,000 for the privilege. As I get older, I find the 1 year old model is better than the brand new thing cause they've worked out most of the issues.

I thought 2022s (some of them) were back to having BSM on Laramie? Any 2021 with BSM are very likely to be sold long ago.

You thought wrong. No BSM on 2022 Laramies. There are lots of 2021 Laramies with BSM. They didn't eliminate it from them until earlier this year. It's easy to figure out. If it has Laramie Equipment Group 1 or 2 it will have it. If it has Laramie Equipment Group A or B it won't.

Guess that window sticker should’ve been a screenshot because it’s saying it’s unavailable now.

Have they changed the option packages back to what they were? That window sticker says Laramie Level 2 Equipment group, not Level B. This contradicts the information Ram put out several months ago when they removed BSM and renamed those groups to A and B. I hope what I posted above is wrong. I don't like all the features that have become unavailable because of the recent shortages.

Yeah, me either. I’m f’in sick of hearing about shortage after shortage.

Must have. Based on that VIN, it was ordered some time towards the end of October, so it’s been available since at least then.
