I know there is no expectation of fuel mileage for these 5000+ lbs vehicles. I wanted to find what everyone is getting in terms of realistic fuel mileage on their eTorque w/ 4x4? I’m getting 14-15 around town being easy on it. And I’m getting 17-18 highway normally doing 78-80 MPH.

I throught highway was going to be better than 17-18 @ 80 MPH.

I’ve also found that the Onboard computer doesn’t do a good job of calculating the MPG average.

You're still pushing a big brick through the wind, tires can have a big effect on it too. Not sure what comes on the BTS edition.

I get around the same at 72-75, I blame my running boards but they're great for getting in and out of the truck.
Yeah, the average MPG that the trip computer shows is like a 2 or 300 mile rolling average. I track my fill ups(and maintenance) with acar which backs up to Fuelly.

Colorado and Texas.
After 45,000+ miles I am getting about 15.2-15.5 MPG overall. I am happy with the fuel economy compared to my 2007 1500 Hemi 4x4 3.92 that was getting 13.8-14.2 MPG overall and the new truck is about 200 Lbs Heavier.

I have a BTS which comes standard with fixed running boards. I was thinking of getting those auto-deploy-and-retract running boards that come with the higher trims. I worder if that helps with MPG on the highway since they are tucked in while rolling?

I forgot to mention I have 3.21 gears and not the 3.92. I noticed that on your signature you have 3.92 which makes me sad now because we are averaging the same :-|

Some say yes, wait till about 10K , some say no. I didn't see any change but I don't have ET.
Did you get LT tires? The stock Goodyear Eagles that I have, while not being particularly wonderful, don't seem to have much rolling resistance.
They seem to spin on a snowflake though...

My fuelly average also includes about 3500 miles towing, and my commute is not exactly fuel mileage friendly either.

I see exactly what OP is seeing in mine with same conditions.
Summer gas may help a smidge once some of that water gets out and better quality gas. (North east only problems?)

This truck came with Falken Wildpeak A/T3Wa which is a all season, snow, off-road tire but not as agressive as the K02’s.

Even that little bit of aggressive tread probably is costing you at least 1 mpg. It's a heavier tire as well so greater rotating mass. Kinda' reminds me of when I get out of the recliner, more effort due to greater rotating mass...

That is right in line what what you could expect. I get about 14-15 city. I get 20-22 highway 65-70. So what you are getting going 80 seems about right. I don't think there is anything wrong with your truck based on those numbers, if that is what you're trying to figure out.

I’m getting 17.5 mpg at 25 degrees F outside, mix of city and highway 30 mile commute. My Ram has 8850 miles on it. That’s with start stop and mds shut off and not getting into the gas pedal hard. I saw 20 - 21 highway when it was warmer out this fall.

The EPA computed mileage on a stripped 4x4 of unknown cab type or bed length is 15/21 for the straight hemi and 17/22 for the ET he has, so his mpg's are close for in town, a bit low for the highway however the options, lift, tires and maybe speeds/hills could account for that, as well as winter gas.

Here's a very complicated Excel spreadsheet the EPA used for test car data, if you can figure out what it means you're better than me:

I found this EPA site at: https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/Find.do?action=sbs&id=43016&id=43017

It can compare several vehicles side by side. So I typed in the 1500 series 4x 5.7 ET and the non-hybrid: (Note, there is no information on trim level or base weight provided, you can presume its the lightest configurations possible!) It lists the "mild hybrid" ET truck at 17/22 and the straight hemi at 15/21. NOTE- "mid-grade gas"
Evidently formatting/spacing is a mess but you can go on that website and play with it.

I’m averaging about 14.5 with 3.92. I’m in Central Texas hill country, most my driving is rolling hills going about 55-60 with a few stop lights thrown in.

Spot on with my winter driving. If you can keep it under 65, and 55 preferred you will see 19 or better.
