2021 1500 Passive entry not available yet as add-on?

So I get my new 1500 just under 2 weeks ago and it had everything I wanted except passive entry. I asked the dealer to find out about adding it and they came back a couple days later and told me they could not get it yet for the 2021's. Said they were told it would not be available for about 4 Months!?! I know I can check with another RAM dealer, call the manufacturer, etc. to see if they are telling me the truth or just dont want to deal with it, but figured I would ask and see if anyone else here had any experience with this yet here first. Sounds strange to me.

Yea, i saw that.. Um.. No. lol. I have zero interest in a project like that.
The dealer certainly can add it, its an option, they just say since its a 2021 and new, its not available yet. But I didn't think there was any major change from the 2020 that would make this not possible on the 2021 yet

Just like the 2019s and 2020s, and every year before it, this will never be a dealer add-on kit/option....EVER....period. That’s not a guess. Doesn’t matter what your dealer told you, they’re wrong, or telling you what you want to hear. If you want it, you have to add it yourself like in the thread linked above.

It’s been a complaint about the big horns since the DT model came out that you can’t order passive entry on them. It’s dumb but part of them trying to get you buy a higher trim level I guess.

You’ll never get a dealer add on package for this. If you had them perform the addition of this similar to the thread posted above you’d be able to buy a Laramie at that point.

Interesting. Ok, they told me it was possible just that not out yet for the 2021's but sounds like everyone here has dealt with this before. Also.... Very Disappointing. I'm certainly not going through all that to modify a new truck just for the passive entry. Oh well, thanks for all the info!
