Hello all, hope all is well.

I've been having some issues with my front passenger door look. Whenever I lock or unlock the door it double and some times triple lock as those it is stuck in place and is continuely trying to either lock or unlock. If I pull the interior door handle then it operates correctly until I lock or unlock the door then it starts it again. I took the door panel off and lock through the mechanism and could not find any issues. Has anyone else been having this issues.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like the BCM is not getting a reliable feed back from the passenger door ajar switch circuit.
Or possibly the BCM could be at fault.
How deep are you willing to dig?

Thank you for the reply. What would you suggest in terms of trouble shooting? I've looked in the door panel like I said but not sure what to troubleshoot next. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Hi all, just wanted to follow up with how things turned out. I ended up running a scan to see if i had trouble codes and nothing popped up. I ended up taking the door panel off again and removed the interior panel to take another look at the interior of the door along with the mechanisms controlling the door locking system. I could not find anything wrong there so I reinstalled the interior panel and tried the looks and everything worked properly. I installed the exterior panel and the problem showed up again. I looked at the grommet that holds the tip for the locking mechanism in place and found that there was a lot of friction between the grommet and the piece that moves up and down when the door is locked and unlocked. I ended up taking a drill bit that was just a little bit larger that the grommet hole and bore it out, didn't seem like any material was removed but it did the job. Haven't had any issues since. Thanks for all the input trouble shooting this thing, it was extremely ignoring hearing the door double and triple lock anytime the door lock was activated.
