2019 Side mirror turn signal condensation

Bought my Ram a couple of weeks ago and have just noticed the drivers side side mirror has some problems. The turn signal housing has water in it and seems the reason is because the panel wrapping from the bottom front to underneath is broken/maybe some clasps are not in right?

my research came up with tons of videos of replacing the top caps with this or that color but nothing mentions the bottom panel or how to access it. Wondering in anyone has any knowledge or advice. I did not want to start to pry and pull myself for fear of breaking something further. If I apply pressure from underneath ,closest corner, to the cab it will move up and down a good bit. The passenger side has no movement.

That's not something I've see anyone have trouble with, granted I've only been a regular here for a little over a year. Assuming you bought it new it's something that's covered under warranty. I wouldn't mess with it or they might refuse coverage, claiming you caused it somehow. My unsolicited advice is to have the dealership fix it.

Thanks for the reply. I've called and made an appointment. Might update afterwards just incase I learn any information that might be of use to someone in the future.

@Mavrcks ...please add a signature line with the year and any additional detail you wish to share about your truck as you see in mine and the post above yours. Thanks and welcome!

Please do update us. Eventually all of our factory warranties will expire and it will be useful information for people to search on in the future.

Well the news is bad unfortunately. A rock or something caused a crack in the turn signal housing that you can see in the last picture I attached above. So they will not cover it under warranty. They said they cannot order just the underneath housing nor the turn signal housing. They will not take it apart to clean and just kind of patch it either, assuredly for liability purposes id assume. So only solution they have is to spend 700$ and replace the entire mirror. Seems a little steep to me to just fix a cover and housing. But maybe there is more involved than I am aware of. My thinking currently is to maybe pick up a cheap or busted mirror off of ebay or something and try and reverse engineer the parts off that I need.

Sorry to hear that it's not covered. But I understand why they won't as well. I'd definitely look into used. ebay and car-part.com are great places to start.

Yeah I understand as well. Just can’t believe I can’t really find any forums or videos on the topic. But the “good news” is even if I screw up the mirror in attempting a fix. I’m supposed to replace it all anyways haha. And again thanks for the replies!

Go to tascaparts.com. I ordered just the turn signal housing for my 2019 Laramie Longhorn, with shipping I believe it was $41. Actually going out to replace it now.

Any update on the status of everything?
Also you can see how much it is for just he replacement mirror and do the replacement yourself. might save you the labor fees. Good luck with the repair, and congratulations on the new truck.
