Good Afternoon everyone,
I have a peculiar situation and im starting to regret my purchase. For a little backstory I spent a long time trying to find a truck I wanted, and yes I do prefer to have the electrical gadgets for comfort knowing they come at a cost. Regardless about 1 month ago I purchased my 2019 Ram Sport (Rebel) from a local dealer. It had two previous owners, one being the department of Motor Vehicles for Ontario, Canada and then an elderly couple which couldnt afford their monthly payments and it was repoed.
For a while the truck seemingly had no issues, and no major ones that the dealer neglected to tell me. We did dicuss they installed a new tailgate (from a 5th gen Laramie), which does work but seems like it doesn't fit properly. Not a huge issue cause they wrote the full price of a new one off.
Lately though for the past 3 weeks I have repeatedly gone out to the truck to go to work (about 4 - 5 miles away from my home) and the truck is dead nearly everytime, sometimes it will have a tiny amount of juice left for me to open the doors and other times I have to use the physical key. Two meter tests said 5.2v and 4.7v (obviously bad). I had it tested for a parastic draw and the shop came up with nothing the first time except a loose negative terminal, which I replaced the terminal housing and a new battery if it was a core issue.
Once again, dead. It is currently being tested again but they still cannot find a solution.
P.s. there are two Can-C Wiring Buses that are dangling from under the dash on drivers side, not enough length to be visible when I am sitting upright, but very obvious when you look at it underneath. There is a white one and green one with sorts of wires feeding to them. At one moment the truck was dead I was getting a jump and no systems were responding (i.e. cluster animations) but I touched one of those buses and the animations started up. Definitely could be related but I wanted to test the waters to see if anyone has had a similar experience.
Thanks everyone. (I should've prefaced this by saying I have an intermittent level of automotive knowledge, i.e. I can replace manifolds and even fuel injectors but nothing as complicated as an engine rebuild or extensive wiring. Thx)
