Thanks to one of our insiders 5thGenRams has learned that 2019 Ram 1500’s equipped with the 3.6 Pentastar V6 with eTorque will begin production in August 2018. Ram Trucks have said that the V6 Pentastar would be late availability and 5thGenRams is the first to report the production start date. The 3.6 Pentastar V6 is rated at 305hp and 269lb-ft of torque and comes standard with FCA’s new eTorque system that is capable of delivering an up to 90lb-ft of torque boost to the Pentastar V6 at low engine speeds.

For initial launch the only available engine option for the 2019 Ram 1500’s is the 5.7 Hemi V8 available with and without eTorque. The 3.0 EcoDiesel V6 will also be a late availability engine option that we will report the production start date for as soon as more information becomes available.

Make sure to check back regularly as we report all the latest 2019 Ram 1500 news as it becomes available.

A 2002 360 V8 had 245 hp and 335lbft torque. A 2002 318 V8 had 230hp and 300lbft torque. The last two v8s of the 2nd gen. Wow, I would say Ram has a powerful line of engines from the bottom to the top...now about that 426!

The V6 that ended it out...210hp and 235 torque.

I am certain this engine would feel very powerful in a regular cab 2WD truck. They should make a special edition sport truck with this engine.

Do you think this will be roughly the same time frame for other "late availability" options?

Yea with Etorque I think it will feel pretty stout on the low end.

I think they will regularly introduce late availability options into the production mix as production continues to ramp up. What will be first and in what order I don't know.

The order books finally opened up for the v6 yesterday, so I assume it's actually in production now, or will begin imminently.

What is the MPG for the V6 PentaStar? with eTorque? What is the general consensus on getting a truck without a V8?
