Once again my friends and 5thGenRams Forum sponsor Abbotsford Chrysler came through in a huge way allowing me the use of a 2019 Ram 1500 limited for a night. I got a text message on Saturday that a Limited just came in off the truck and that it would be full of gas and that I was welcome to take it and bring it back the next day, I jumped on the opportunity to use the truck to create some great content.

While I had previously driven a 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie and wrote about my driving impressions this was my first opportunity to drive a 2019 Ram with the 12 inch UConnect, panoramic sunroof or the adaptive cruise control.

I found this 2019 Ram 1500 Limited to drive excellently, as in my Laramie drive, the truck was very smooth, very quiet and an overall pleasure to drive. The active LED headlights illuminate the road at night better than any vehicle I’ve ever driven and once again I was very impressed with the new larger brakes. This was my first experience with an adaptive cruise control system and it worked flawlessly. Set your desired speed and distance from the vehicle ahead of you and the truck takes care of the rest. I even (nervously with me foot just above the brake pedal) let the adaptive cruise control system bring the truck to a complete stop when the car infront of me stopped. As soon as they started moving again the truck accelerated by itself right up to the pre set speed. This would be an awesome feature on a long road trip.

The 12 inch UConnect screen is a show stopper, responds quickly with no lag and is very easy and intuitive to use. You can split the display to show 2 functions at once or allow an app to use the whole display. There are redundant buttons down the side of the screen for all your climate functions making them quick and easy to use without getting into the screen to do it.

The interior was beautifully trimmed with high quality leather everywhere, real wood and metal inserts also abound in the cabin. This truck had the Indigo/Light Frost beige interior color combination with the indigo almost looking black in some lighting situations. Everything you could look at or touch looked and felt very high quality. Fit and finish was also spot on with no visible issues anywhere. 2019 Ram 1500s are definitely at the top of the class in the interior department, other manufacturers will be scrambling to catch up.

Overall I had another very impressive experience driving a 2019 Ram 1500, anyone currently shopping for a new truck really needs to take one for a drive. Our video showing the exterior and interior walkaround as well as showing some of the technology features is below.

@Jared Balfour your write ups and photography keep getting better.

I have never, not one second, been interested in anything higher than a sport, but this limited makes me feel like I would be missing out.

I sure can't wait til you get your hands on a Rebel. And am also anxious to see your Tradesman reveiw.

Once again, I hope Ram is paying attention, cause you are doing them a fine service.

I appreciate it, I come from a trades background (I'm a railway worker and formerly from construction) so all of this is very new to me and I'm learning as I go. I bought a Sony a6000 mirrorless camera yesterday on advice from @redriderbob and am still learning to use it.

All I can hope for is continuous improvement, I am very happy with what has been created here and Mopar Insiders so far.

I did notice one fit/finish issue in your video that was really bad on the Limited a local dealer let me drive. The leather cutout around the Limited badge on the center console seemed to not line up well with the badge. On the Longhorn, the badge sits on top of the leather but on the Limited, the leather is cutout around the Limited badge.
It looked like your loaner wasn't cut well but the one I tested was a very poor finish. Pic below wasn't focused on that but you can see the glue around the badge peeking out:

Since this is something you see almost as much as the steering wheel, I want it done well.

Yeah that definitely doesn't look too good. I'd want that to be damn near perfect. I'll have to go through the photos and see what it looked like on my loaner, it didn't stick out as being poorly finished to get me to notice it, but I'll have to take another look.
