The 3rd Gens are great looking trucks, I still remember the photos of the Red Sport when the 2002's were revealed and thinking it was such a beautiful truck. I really liked (and still do like) the 2002-05's. I personally don't like the 06-08 refresh myself though.

I was never a big fan of the 3rd Gens always drooled over a Hemi Powerwagon though...but after her getting this one, it has grown on me. I want to find a 2003 V10 5-spd regular cab longbed, but they are just as rare as the same in a powerwagon. I do have to say though, this is the best looking when they are lifted and chromed...but I prefer mine in a Sport package with body color everything.

I have no complaints with this one though, it works hard and plays well.

Funny thing is, I was 16 at the time and Chrysler invited me and my dad to come see the trucks before they were launched at the Pontiac Silverdome right down the road from CTC. They had their whole Mayor of Truckville ad campaign in full effect for reaction. I also remember sitting in drafting class in high school and kept refreshing the page on Allpar.com waiting for the images from the Chicago Auto Show.

That Sport you were talking about was a bit different than the production one, since it had blacked out pillars which actually looked better than the production model.

Yeah if I ever bought one I think I would have blacked out the pillars as they were on that red truck. It looks like thats the way they were going to go based on that truck and then changed at the last minute, I wonder why that was. The design just ties the window openings together nicer IMO.

Well, this poor truck has been sitting for awhile now. Thanks to my neighbor trying to be helpful, it has a broken axle shaft.

Inspection is due next month, and although this one shows it less than the 99.. rust is causing great turmoil.

I hate having a "care" for our trucks . Should just let it go and get a new one...seems simple enough.

Guess I got to make some decisions about the future of our old Rams.

Holding out for the 5th Gen HD is getting harder.
