12” UConnect problem.

Hello all.

Bought the limited on Sunday, really liked the truck. Then all of a sudden today, three days after I bought the truck the whole UConnect system is dead. I mean it won’t load up anything. I can tell the screen is on because it’s not pure black screen like when the truck was turned off it’s got this grey-ish light. The only things that works is the backup camera. (Can’t zoom in either). I tried the two knob press no luck. Waited for about an hour still the same. Feels like the OS got erased or something. I’m home now and will for a little longer like 2 hours to try again. If that don’t work I guess only option is yank the battery. Fingers crossed.

I would unhook the battery for a few minutes. Hopefully it will reboot and everything will work.

Ok. Fixed. Did not unhook battery. I left the truck for 2 hours came back and start it up and it’s all ok now. One thing I noticed, the sirus radio is now back to preview status (with the super low volume) come to think of it, I only started the sirus yesterday (1 year subscription that came with the truck) and today this happened. Could it be that the sirus is causing a conflict with the booting operation of UConnect? I have now switched media from a sirus radio to usb. Let’s see if the problem still happens.

It may be a SiriusXM update. Happened to me a few weeks ago twice, and then the XM artwork on my presets was gone. Anyway, both times the issue resolved itself after leaving the truck off for about 30-45 minutes. Then about a week later the icons work, and I have not had issues in close to three weeks or so.

I see that you mentioned your Uconnect system is now operable. If this happens again, please send us a direct message. We can look further into this and escalate to a Uconnect Case Specialist if necessary.
