So I just put 5100s and +1.5” spring on and am thinking I may want to go a little higher. Has anyone installed a 6” rough country strut spacer lift or similar on top of their 5100 set up?
Just looking to see what others did after having 5100s installed and wanting a little more. If I did the...
My buddy got a TRDpro Tundra last year? or maybe 2 years ago now, but he was only able to get 1500$ off sticker price and paid 52-53k for a 54-55k MSRP I believe. I dont know the specifics about his deal or what deal you are getting on the Tundra but I got my Rebel for 1500$ below invoice and 4k...
I'm not sure you will be able to get 42" on the stock wheels/tires without doing a 4"+ lift that replaces the knuckles etc. otherwise you will run into CV angle issues from my understanding. The lift you linked would probably get you somewhere similar to my truck.
you have a Rebel? Bilstein technically doesn't list 5100s as compatible with Rebels so they will tell you it will not work. (just went thru this with them and my shop) Even tho there are alot of people here running them (including myself). They will work but for one reason or another are not...
If you take a look in my pics you can see what I got when I installed my Icon 1.5". I got more height out of mine than I was expecting. (which is a good thing I think? lol)
I paid 6 hrs labor + alignment for my install and all said and done i was around 900$. The cheapest shop around me told me 600$ plus alignment but they were atleast 3 weeks out before I could get in.
I just put the flowmaster FlowFX direct fit muffler on my truck and it gives it some more sound. I wouldnt say it is loud by any means but it is def above stock and doesnt drone on the highway. If you want louder but not something to wake the neighbors id say it is a decent option.
I'm running the Stock 33" duratracs. So far it feels like stock but perhaps the rear end is a hair more bouncy in certain scenarios but to be honest I only had a few hundred miles on the truck before I changed it. I think it is as close to stock as I could ask for and the rear end comment is...
Yes, I got just over an inch in the rear with using the Icon spring and rear Bilstein 5100 only. I thought the same as you that I would only get .5" but that is not the case for me. Here is the Icon part number I used just to confirm
Icon Vehicle Dynamics 212150.
Here are my before/Afters. 2021 Rebel
Before: Factory Bilstein 4600s, ORP
After: Bilstein 5100s setting 5, RL UCA, Icon +1.5" Rear Coil Spring
I put a few hundred miles on it this weekend and it is pretty damn close stock ride. If I am looking for something, i feel like the back end feels...
So technically they are right from my understanding. I just went through this with my shop and although everything is a direct fit etc. technically Bilstein does not say its compatible. It will work, Bilstein just does not say it will. Weird I know....
