Transmission falling out of Drive on downshift, blinking, displaying "shift to P" and back

I just had this happen for the 2nd time, almost 22,000 miles between my first incident and this weekend. This time in the middle of a busy intersection in Destin, FL...800 miles from home. Only thing I can link the two incidents together is the fact that they both happened within 5 minutes of...

    Just noticed something interesting

I believe it only comes on when going like 25 or under. It won't do so at highway speeds.

    2020 5.7 Engine Knock

Yep, it's the classic "HEMI Tick" caused from a worn cam lobe and busted lifter. If they ran a scan tool, they should be able to see misfires as well.

    100% sounds like lifter tick.

Hurricane I6 Direct injection Carbon buildup and Toyotas D-4s

That little bit while it's active is very noticeable....objects in motion and all that. I can't tell the difference when unloaded, and I'm sure it makes almost no difference in 0-60 times. It's just a bit of pep coming from a stop with a 6000lb trailer.

Hurricane I6 Direct injection Carbon buildup and Toyotas D-4s

There is a noticeable difference between ET and non-ET when towing from a complete stop. I thought I was going crazy when hauling my car trailer with my brother in law's non-ET 2020 HEMI.

    Fuel Pump Failure @ 40k miles - 2019 Ram 1500

I would call FCA/Stellantis to see if they can pay for it under customer goodwill. YMMV but can't hurt to try.

    Recall: Tailgates coming open

Most of Jalopnik's current writers and ever shrinking readership is decidedly anti-truck. So this is no surprise.

    etorque stalling

Fair, just figured I'd point it out for others if someone else wanted to do so.

    etorque stalling

If you got it all the way up to normal operating temperature and then drained it, your trans is now low on fluid. On the ZF 8HP transmissions level is supposed to be checked when fluid is between 40-50C (104-122F). At normal operating temperatures it can expand roughly ~5%, which is about half a...

No need to change transmission fluid for the life of the truck...REALLY?

The V6 transmissions are produced under license (850RE = Stellantis licensed 8HP transmission). The V8s (and EcoD) use ZF-manufactured units.

    Where we are located: World

One thing I consistently encounter on my business travels is that many Europeans have no grasp of how ****ing huge the US is as a country lol.

    Scorpion Bed Liner

Never heard of Scorpion, but the most important part of getting a **professional** spray in liner is how well the installer preps the surface. Even the best bedliners will peel with **** surface prep.

    5th Gen Ram 1500 Differential Rear Fluid Change (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022+)

This is correct, 3mm above nominal is within spec. With that said, this is a differential....3mm above the nominal fill level isn't going to hurt a damn thing.
