New owner with short Bighorn review

You don't have to disable the rear ParkSense completely - you can just disable the automatic braking through the setup options in Uconnect. It will still beep but won't apply the brakes.

    3.21. vs 3.92 gear

I've towed a small fifth wheel - 5,000 pounds loaded - over many mountain ranges between British Columbia and Texas. The 3.21 had plenty of power, I was able to accelerate going uphill when I needed to at any altitude and on any grade. In tow mode the transmission doesn't use 8th but cruises...

    Compass not working

Update to my compass problem last fall - we just returned from doing the same round trip to Seattle and the compass worked the whole way. I was at the dealer prior to the trip and they couldn't find a problem so didn't do anything....since that first glitch last fall, though, it has always worked.

    2019 Ram 1500 5th wheel towing

Forgot to mention one thing - when I hitch up the fifth wheel there is very little squat, I haven't measured it yet but the truck sits perfectly level when hitched and loaded. I know from other 4th gen Ram owners with the same trailer that they got more back end squat. Ram changed from liner...

    2019 Ram 1500 5th wheel towing

Just drove from Austin to Chilliwack, BC to pick up our new Escape 5.0TA fifth wheel. 2,500 miles up with out the trailer, averaged 22mpg. Return trip pulling the trailer averaged 14 mpg. Lots of mountain driving, and I drove the speed limit except in areas where it's 80 in Idaho and Utah...

First Ram. Greetings from the Texas Hill Country

Great looking truck....but then I am partial to white! Maybe we'll pass each other on the road sometime, I live in Austin. We are in Seattle right now, our second trip here since we bought the truck last July. 11,000 smooth, wonderful trouble free miles and counting.

EXTENDED WARRANTY through Insurance Carrier - Geico. 7 years/100,000 miles for $210! ??

This sounds like the best deal going right now. I keep my vehicles a long time - still driving my 1998 Ram - so when I bought my 2019 Ram last summer I got the Mopar Maxcare lifetime unlimited warranty with $100 deductible for $2,745. Over the life of the truck I'm sure it will pay for itself...

5.7 hemi w/e etorque fuel mileage

My Lone Star is similar to yours, just a quad cab instead of crew cab. I usually get 16-17 combined running around town, on a 5,000 mile road trip last fall I averaged over 21. 8,000 miles on it now, but I didn't notice terrible mileage in the beginning or any real improvement after a few...

    Rubber tailgate bumpers

Finally got my tailgate bumpers.....in March for a truck I took delivery on in July. Sounds like dealers are just now starting to get a decent supply of parts for the 2019's.

    2019 Ram 1500 5th wheel towing

Most fifth wheels can not really safely be adapted for just a gooseneck ball in the bed - they would require an extension post attached to the fifth wheel kingpin, and the fifth wheel frames are not really designed for that and it is questionable whether they can safely handle the stress on that...

    2019 Ram 1500 5th wheel towing

I have a quad cab and bought it to tow a small 5th wheel – an Escape fiberglass trailer that weighs 5,000 pounds loaded with a pin weight of around 800. I ordered my Lone Star with few options – tow package, 33 gallon tank, level 1 equipment, 3.21 diff – in order to get a high payload, and I...

Please post your Tire and Loading sticker

Last time I checked Curt and Reese had hitch rail kits only for the 2019 Ram Classic, not the new body style - be careful if you are ordering. Etrailer has been showing the Curt rail kits for 2019 Ram but they are the same kit as the 2015-2018 if you look at the part number. The new body style...

What brand / model fifth wheel will you be towing, and what weight? My truck is very similar to yours, I also ordered it to pull a fifth wheel, Escape 5.0TA. Have you found any manufacturer has come out with truck-specific hitch rail mounting brackets for the 2019 Ram yet?

2019 Ram 1500 HEMI V8 Gets a Significant Bump in MPG from the Hybrid According to the EPA (News)

Took a 5,000 mile cross country road trip, started with 1,000 miles on the truck. Drove as fast as we reasonably could, a lot of 75 - 80, plenty of mountainous terrain, did use cruise control a lot. I'm sure I could have easily done better than this if keeping it to 65. Back home in fairly...

    Compass not working

Haven't been in to the dealer yet about mine - since we got back to Austin it's been working fine. Don't know what the dealer will say when I tell them it was inoperative 95% of the time once we left Austin - and whatever they say, we'll have to wait until the next long road trip to see what it...
