I've been searching the google and maybe I'm not using the right terminology or something.
But I have a 2021 Rebel with locking rear diff obviously...but I'm curious...is there brake assisted front lsd or bld (if those are the right terms) also built into the rebel offroad abilities...
It’s no problem at all… MDS acted normal. Press was normal and engine sounded way better. It was my buddies rebel and he changed the factory oil at 6000 mi with mobil1 5w30. It really sounded way better on the test drive. I was impressed...
The big take away is changing the oil when it's cold. There was ZERO sway bar splash mess. It just beautifully arc'd over with zero mess. And this was on level ground without raising the front end.
The oil weight was a "huh..nice to know".
Quick and dirty thread. Change your oil when it's bone cold. (eg not driven for long enough that it's room temp) There was no splatter on the sway bar. Zero. It just beautifully arc'd over it until it was a dribble then it dripped on the sway bar. No bid deal. EASY Peasy and Zero mess...
Thanks to all that replied. Even those that didn't actually answer the question. It's still valuable info to someone who stumbles on this thread and doesn't know about the MDS or the Warranty etc.
I've decided to stick with the "ditch water" (very apropos - thanks Silver Billet for that term)...
Big Thanks for that. Yeah...seems like there are a lot TSMITR's that say stuff that is really FAR from reality and just love to state "technicalities". I get it...but again much thanks for the first hand info.
I agree 100%. The other post about the LS engine and lifters is great food for thought...but the post is still conjecture regarding these engines. And could you imagine if it really was a problem running 10w-30 in these engines? That'd be a sh*tshow with all the "Woops I put accidentally put...
Granted...but take the soccer mom or not mechanically inclined person for example. Say they take it to ugghh... iffylube or the likes and some new kid puts 10-30 in it. I'm sure that has had to have happened. I know about the warranty etc. Just hoping for someone to say "yeah I ran it and...
I know it's been hashed out before but the search function is not returning anything useful and I've been gone for a while.
Not looking for debate, just hoping to get any first hand accounts of 2020 or 2021 1500 owners running a heavier oil. My last oil change I did was when the oil was still...
My only problem now is the musty smell that happens after I use max ac with recirc on. It happens after I turn ac off or with just fan. I know there is a thread on in. Need to go read it and tackle that this week.
Here's some pics and results
Outside temp = 78
AC Fan = third from lowest (mid range)
AC Temp = one notch less than max (so it could be fresh air)
Driver left of instrument cluster = 45 F
Driver left of center cluster = 43 F
Passenger right side of center cluster = 41 F
So no problems on my...
I have a 2021 Rebel w/ level package 1 and w/ a build date of Sept 2020. I noticed with only fresh air on cool day here in SoCal the temp coming out of the vent was fairly warm compared to what outside temp was 55 F. It was so warm compared to outside air temp that I had to turn it off and...
My 2021 Rebel has a max tow of 11,508.2 lbs per the lookup website for my vin. I can't find the actual website right now...
and a max payload of 1,608.42 lbs. With me the wifey and kids and bags... That still leaves me with 1,120 lbs payload. Figure a 900 lbs tongue weight for a 9k lbs...
