Black Lug Nuts - Which to buy?

Another good option for a torque wrench. Have had great luck with it personally. https://www.tekton.com/1-2-inch-drive-click-torque-wrench-24340

    Replacement Steering Wheel

Not what you are asking directly, but any good automotive upholstery shop should be able to redo it for you and maybe with a material that will last you longer than a few years.

    Control Arm Wear--Is this bad???

I think that is just your steering stops. You can see they made it thicker at that contact location. With a soft aluminum spindle and control arm they are bound to cut into each other some. I have wear in the same location, but not as bad (only have 18,000 miles on the truck). Seems like wear...

    Really Ram Plastic....

I have some BDS ucas that seem well built and have a Moog ball joint. “Plastic” always sounds bad, but there are some incredible composites now. Very well could be stronger than the metal version. If you are upset about this have you looked at your transmission yet?

Is Off-road package the way to go?

The wrangler 392 does have a locking front differential, and all Jeep Rubicons have traction control, stability control, and locking differentials. For desert, mud and higher speed driving traction controls can come close to the performance of a locker, but for rock crawling or even a technical...

Josh Edgar Designs - 2020 RAM 1500 build and adventures

Headed out for a 4 day trip around eastern Oregon and Idaho. Ended up having a sick kid back at home so had to cut the trip short after a day, but got to see a few nice spots. I am absolutely blown away with the new suspension. Better handling on road, incredible on dirt roads, and manages the...

    Rebel vs. Off Road Package

I think it also depends on if you are going to be doing mods to it. If you like the off-road look and are going to keep it stock the Rebel is the way to go. If you are going to be upgrading suspension, tire, bumpers, etc then you lose the perks of the Rebel anyways. For me I was able to get a...

    Desert Dawg Ram Rebel Build

Oh man I missed this post! Bummer about your step, but it saved the body and thats all that matters. Nice work wheeling that thing hard!

Josh Edgar Designs - 2020 RAM 1500 build and adventures

I originally got some N-Fab rkr body mount ones for a tiny bit of protection but 2 of the mounting studs snapped off the truck using a standard ratchet. Decided I needed frame mounted right then! I debated on going with the top plate too, but my wife was used to getting into the Jeep so the...

    2” lift with 35’s

I had 35 11.5s on my off road package (1” factory lift) before I lifted it and cleared for normal driving with just minor trimming.

    Tranny design is stupid

They are always a pain to do, but for most people it is such a long service interval it isn’t a big deal. The one on the Jeep JK has NO drain plug at all and you have to undo the exhaust crossover to drop the pan that is 100% full of fluid.

White Knuckle Off Road sliders arrived. Overall very impressed with the quality and packaging and stoked to have some real rocker protection! Install tonight!

Josh Edgar Designs - 2020 RAM 1500 build and adventures

Got a chance to test the new suspension out this evening and I am blown away. I hit up a local ohv so I could get a good mix of terrain and it worked amazingly well everywhere. Here are my thoughts. Pavement: Better bump absorption all the way around and drastically better handling. The truck...

What did you do to your Ram today???

I ordered mine a year ago and it came in 4 days. Bummer lead times have gone up so much. Install was super easy and the fit is amazing. Well worth it!

Changing tire size effect BCM settings?

I went the other way so dropped from a 20 to an 18 and then went up from stock tire size to a 35" tire and everything is happy still. The computer cares about overall tire height vs wheel size so if you end up with a lower profile tire on a bigger wheel that should be very similar anyways.

Josh Edgar Designs - 2020 RAM 1500 build and adventures

I bought my RSI Smartcap used so I didn't have any idea how it was originally assembled. It rained the other day and water was pouring in at all the seams. So today I pulled it off the truck (I would not recommend doing it solo like I did!) and fully disassembled it, put RTV on all the seams...

Josh Edgar Designs - 2020 RAM 1500 build and adventures

Sorry I missed this message somehow. I just tried to figure out which one I have an I honestly can't. I don't see any part numbers on the coil over itself, and my invoice says nothing other than the BDS part #s. I have easily 2/3 (over 4") of the adjustment threads left, so I am thinkingI...
