Replaced the mounts today and as far as I can tell the noise is gone. Super easy job, having a powerful impact makes it super easy. TRX mounts fit without an issue.
Nicely done! I'm not sure how you managed to get that out or back in without taking that driver side fuel rail off. I fought with it for a while but before starting the job I made the mini torx tool needed so i just took the rail off.
Also just googled top side creeper.......that would of made...
Ordered the mounts but they haven’t arrived yet. Since it was nice out today I removed the bolt on the lower portion of the driver side a pillar and re-installed. Noise is now gone. This seems to confirm it’s something with that mount. I’m sure it will return but now I’m more confident the new...
I was told by a dealer Ecodeisel tech that when changing the oil on these its best to let them drain for at least 30min and preferably more. Its common to overfill these with oil and that blow by is a common side effect of that. Its really not too bad unless you really overfill it. It will find...
Is this lag 100% of the time? These Ecodiesels do have some turbo lag for sure and are far from quick. There has been issues of a delayed throttle response., where you go to accelerate and absolutely nothing happens but its wasn't consistent for most including me. When they performed the DEF...
Agree. I ordered the full A pillar (top/Bot), lowers for the B pillar and sway bar bushings. Maybe ill order the end links today. If it continues after that ill order B mounts and take a closer dive into the suspension as it could be getting tired at almost 130k miles now.
The mounts are relatively cheap so I may just give them a shot. Not 100% sure on where/how to jack only the cab up just yet but I'm sure I can find the info.
I took a close look at the sway bar bushings and they look ok but I didn't remove them and inspect. The noise for me isn't consistent, it...
The emissions stuff sucks for sure and its a shame its required. Previous gen had issues for sure with egr coolers and rod bearings. My theory based on how I see dealers operate is a lot of these ecodiesels just weren't maintained well by them. Probably wrong oil types, overfilled, underfilled...
I'm here for the long haul. We will see how long it goes! Honestly so far its been a great ownership experience. Ordered it new and I'm now 127k miles in. This was my first repair, other issues were covered by recalls.
No, I wouldn't say this was a simple one. Took me and a mechanic buddy about 8hrs including some snack breaks. Working on this thing sucks.....we are basically laying and sitting in the engine bay. I have a lot more respect for the guys who wrench on these pickups all day long.
For me the worst...
Id recommend going with the OEM version, 68490098AA. That comes with all new sensors and mechanism for the swirl valves. I also went with new fuel lines and a few other gaskets when replacing mine.
There’s seems to be some oil coming through the charge air cooler and in through the throttle body. It’s not much at all and likely normal but it seems like the combination of that plus the soot coming through the egr starts gum up. Overall not too bad I guess for 127k miles.
Got the manifold off yesterday and the new one out in. I’ll be wrapping it all up later this evening hopefully. Getting that wiring harness out of the way was a pain. The ALLDATA procedure wasn’t all that helpful apart from getting torque values, and some close up images of connectors.
Looking...
127k miles. No additives. Also no biodiesel from the station I use in 99% of my fill ups. Not sure if that helps or hurts this situation.
You can clean these but ultimately this will jam up those swirl valves. There really is no means of cleaning those. You could clean the egr tube weekly and...
I heard it isn’t and it also doesn’t come with the actuator for the swirl valves or any of the sensors. The Mopar one is a lot more $$ but it comes with all new sensors and actuators. With how much labor is required to swap it, even my cheap *** gladly passed on that. Started my swap today...
Coming up on 127k. Just now having some issues, I’ll be replacing intake manifold for stuck swirl valves. Other than that it’s been solid and any issue I was starting to have was addressed with a recall. Stock, no fuel additives. I have a diet ready to go, just need to install it. Maybe come...
I have a similar issue and from my research its seems common for the swirl valves on the intake manifold to become stuck due to carbon build up. I've seen some as low as ~60k miles but most seem to be north of 100k. I'm at 126k now and my new manifold showed up this past Saturday. I plan to...
I came across this video on YouTube as I was troubleshooting a suspension noise and my truck seems to have this exact issue. I can even see the air gap between the mount and the cab with signs of rubbing.
My question is has anyone successfully used the TRX part number mounts on non TRX trucks...
I've had the P200A, P200B and P2DE codes for the last week or so and I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on either doing it myself or the dealer. Still struggling to find the part but I "might" have one sorted soon. Dealer wants~$1200 for labor which isn't too terrible but to get their...
I got the same code the other day but I a few more with it. P200A, P200B and P2DE. 125k miles. Looking into replacing the intake manifold. Looks like a big task. May try registering for tech authority to see if there is a decent procedure to do this. I also have a stage 2 kit coming...
