I'll be curious of the effects on the DEF usage after the recalls. My 2016 eco diesel would get almost 8,000 miles before I had to fill (2.5 gallons). My 2020 eco diesel gets about 3,000 miles before I fill (2.5 gallons). My driving is the same about 90% highway (150 mile commute daily) and...
Should not be an issue, I have the 3.21 and tow a 3500 lb trailer consistently. No issues. I commute 75 miles one way all highway and average 28 mph doing 75 mph and close to 30 if I drive state highways at 60. Winter time I average around 24-25 mpg using winterize fuel and putting 280lbs of...
I have the 3.21 on a 2020 eco diesel. Tow regularly but only a loaded 3-4 thousand pound utility trailer. Never an issue pulling up, down or straight. I do a lot more long mile commuter driving (150 mile work commute each day) and like the MPG I get with the 3.21 - though to be honest not...
I'll double check today but I know on remote start the fan is on full and then comes down when I get in and push the start button, I do not believe the fan is on full with a regular start as I have noticed it kicks up when the coolant temp get above about 110 degrees. I have 2020 Laramie...
yep, the weather map is worthless, very rarely shows the radar and I commute an 1 1/2 hours each way so it would have plenty of time to do so. The weather on my 2016 always came up after 1-2 minutes. I have also found the new Uconnect guardian is likely not worth renewing after the free...
Living in the Siberia of the Midwest, I have never had an issue with my 2016 ED or 2020 ED (though the new one has not gone through a full winter) and 7-15 days straight of 10 to 40 degree below zero weather. I do have the winter covers and have it on both trucks. I would not drive with out...
I have had the hemi, moved to a 2016 ED and now a 2020 ED, both Laramie, air suspension, 3.21 on the 2020 and LSD in both EDs . I still love the truck. I find the 3rd generation engine seems smoother, I have less lag than the 2016 and better MPG. The towing is great and it seems to pull with...
I have the Kykr premium screen protector on for 5 months now. No issues, it is the Matte finish that helps in glare better than the original screen but does totally eliminate the glare. Perfect fit and can not even tell it is on, came very well packaged. likely minimizes the finger prints but...
Likely not the case but I did find out that you can only remote start once and then you have to start the normal way before you can remote restart again. This was on my 2016, have not tried it to see if it still acts that way on my 2020.
I would talk to the dealer, they gave me the passenger one free of charge when I told them it was missing from my 2020 Laramie, after I picked the new truck up. Easy and cheap for them to do it and keep you or likely the spouse happy. I am not sure what models they are suppose to be supplied...
Just for safety I should mention, from my old rock climbing days, if I was still doing that I would not use this setup, though I likely would not do it in this truck, I had a modified jeep, that was small, front winch, and the pulls were almost always from the front getting over boulders as you...
on an old 2004 ram I did mount a front hitch plate receiver on the frame, could have moved the winch front and back. I actually used it for pushing very large trailers into tough spots, not sure you could do this with the new ones. Also with all the new cameras, and trailer controls not much...
I do not do a lot of off road anymore but do get in a few spots that require a winch to pull me out, pull a tree stump or pull someone else out. For years I have used a Tuff Stuff 12,500 lb winch mounted to a hitch plate, the winch is water proof and it came with a cable but I switched the...
My suggestion is if your in a cold area get the winter front, very easy to install, has vents that you can open when necessary and as Bill-e stated it does keep the truck happier in extreme cold. I have used them in all my diesels, the current and last one had active grills. I guess the last...
I would check with your gas station supplier, in WI I was once told that their winter blend (they do not have artic blend) was good to negative 10 (F) below zero before it could gel, when we are in for a very cold snap I add an additive that takes me down to negative 40 below - I figure cheap...
Definitely not there yet but I would not say it can not be done, do not need all the roads, perhaps major arteries with various power/transmission stations sending less power through the portion they power, the side routes could also be driven by the charged battery. Better solar cells could...
One option in the future to watch for is imbedded wireless charging in the pavement, lot of R&D on it, they have test beds in Europe and if they do get it to work you could embed a charger in the freeway. Likely will be in home driveways as a convenience feature first but eventually if the...
It would be interesting to see how it works after someone uses it for a bit, did a little digging and it looks to be twice the price as their regular DEF.
on my 2016 I went with an aftermarket versus the OEM, I had the rain sensing wipers and other stuff and had no issue with the aftermarket glass. Had it on the truck for 2 years before I sold the truck this year for a new 2020 and the windshield was still good, rain sensors worked as well as the...
Well after 5 days in the shop they swapped the ABS module (4 day back order) and that was not the problem. They got an engineer on the phone and after 4 hours of going through computers and connections they traced the issue to a busted/bad wire to the speed sensor that was intermittently...
