I just can't see how extra visibility and awareness would be disabled on purpose. Regardless of the feature, what bothered me the most was that when I would open my tailgate my bed lights wouldn't come on like they should.

Yes I can guarantee that's what happened when you had the dealer re-flash you. I don't think they've done it on purpose as there's no real purpose to doing so, but they've made a mistake. And to some degree, with the amount of options and builds there are I can't say that I don't understand it...

It's not even that far. It's most simply not working as designed from the factory. They should by now have a star bulletin to check that necessary parts are on the truck for builds with tail gate ajar warning, and make the proper BCM modification that we have done with Alfa OBD. Like many things...

I have researched these a lot and I'm set on an Undercover Ultra Flex or Bakflip MX4 - Does anyone know if/when these can be had in the low $700 range? It's crazy how expensive these are. My neighbor has an MX-4 for his F150 and he told me black Friday..?

Correct, I know a bighorn owner with it that does not have parallel parking system or mutli function tailgate.

I’ve noticed lately in the EVIC? Screen when I’m on the MPG screen it used to show me in the top right what my current value was. I noticed it went away and then came back but now it’s been gone for a week or more. Anyone else have this? sorry if this ones posted it’s a hard one to search for.

Change “CBC Config IO F pin 26 Connector F Pin 26: Trunk/Liftgate Ajar Signal Input Present” to YES and that will fix it. It will also make your bed lights come on when you open the tail gate (overhead lights)
