Tried the Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax for the first time

Used some of this (the lazy man's quick-hitter ceramic wax.) Pretty pleased with how it turned out for no more time and effort than it took. I know it won't last years, but I'm okay with that.

POLL: 5th Gen Owners working from home due to COVID-19?

With COVID-19, I'm wondering how many of us are or will be working from home until things pass. If you are, will you be doing anything extra to or with your Ram? (I know...it's not that important given the circumstances, but some of us will have extra time on our hands.)

Best cleaner & conditioner for WeatherTech floormats?

I've had several sets of these in past trucks, but I've not yet found the "perfect" cleaner and conditioner for them. As you know, they tend to be a bit slicker than OEM and some other brands. They're very durable and look great when they're clean, but I'd like to find a cleaner that doesn't...

Is there any evidence that later build dates are more problem-free than earlier build dates?

Other then anecdotal stories from this and other forums? I mean, statistically you would think the earlier builds on a new generation would have more issues...that's usually been the prevailing thinking. But I'm curious whether or not there is any empirical evidence to support that. Or do we...

    POLL: Rate your RAM dealer

Wanted to specify "RAM" as some of you might be thinking of a different dealer. ;) Consider: Purchase value Trade-in value (if any) Financing process (if any) Efficiency of the overall transaction Customer service and support after the sale Service department (I know this will be a HUGE...

Cleaning to ***disinfect***the inside of your car

Saw this article on cnet today and thought I'd share, in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic. Not advocating any or all of it, but thought it was interesting.

More fuel questions - Top Tier and high octane

I know there are lots of fuel/octane threads out there, and I've read most of them. But I haven't really seen these two particular issues addressed directly, or I just missed them. 1. Do you make it a point to use only Top Tier fuels, as long as you can get it where you are at the time? If...

POLL: Did you name your truck?

Did you name your truck? If so, what is it? I've never named one of my vehicles but I know a lot of people do.

Check in if you just don't care about modding anymore

When I was younger, I was a lot more into it. Different wheels, tires, lifts, performance enhancements, CAI's, exhaust, etc. Now that I'm in my mid-50's, I just don't care about it. Not knocking anyone who does...more power to you (pun somewhat intended). :) I just can't crawl around, over...

I really like this Alpine system (from a non-audiophile)

It just sounds good to me. I am an amateur musician (piano) and love many, many types of music. This system sounds as good to my admittedly non-technical ears as any automobile audio system I've personally owned. Today while listening to Classic Rewind on XM, Tom Sawyer (Rush) played. At...

In what month did they first start producing the 5th gens?

Was it January 2018? Mine was built in January 2020 so I guess that's about two full years to get the bugs worked out. Just curious.

Anyone use protectant on the sport hood plastic inserts?

Talking about the fake vents and scoops on the front sides and back near the windshield. If so, do you use the same stuff you use on other exterior black trims? Like 303 our other? Or do you use something different or "special" for these?

Manually turning off truck at long stoplights (on a non-auto-stop/start truck)

Mine doesn't have the auto-start/stop (let's call it "A$$") feature, which is fine. I had it on my 2017 F150 and had mixed feelings about it. However, Ford says (and I assume other manufacturers do the same) it had a heavy-duty starter and battery to compensate for the extra A$$ cycles. My...

POLL: What's your obsession level with your 5th gen?

What's your obsession level with your 5th gen? Not compared to the loved ones in your life or other things that are obviously more important than a truck. But simply from a truck perspective, how obsessive are you?

Mopar cleaning and conditioning products - any good?

Of course the manual recommends the use of their products, e.g. cleaning, conditioning, protectants, waxes, etc. Has anyone spent much time using them? If so, how do they compare with the good, aftermarket stuff? I'm sure there are better things out there, but are they a good value if you're...

Anyone ever seen or tried the Lund Catch-It Carpet Floormats?

I don't do anything too dirty or muddy with my truck, so I prefer carpeted style floormats, just for looks, comfort, and ease of vacuuming and cleaning. (I say this even though I've owned Weathertechs, Huskys, and OEM all weather mats in the past.) Has anyone ever tried these Lund floormats...

Consumer Reports' Reliability rating for Ram 1500 - doesn't make sense

I'm a subscriber to CR, have been for years. It's not my ratings "bible" but I do find it generally interesting and informative. I regularly read their reviews and ratings on many products, but I especially watch the auto ratings, just out of morbid curiosity more than anything. So I looked...

What can I expect for durability of paint on the front end/hood/grill?

Also mirrors (body colored). I have the Diamond Black Crystal Pearl with the Sport package. Does it hold up pretty well to chips and scratches? Should I just expect to do a lot of touching up? Or should I put some sort of protection up there?

Rearrange Apple CarPlay home screen layout?

On Apple CarPlay's Uconnect home screen, the left half is Apple Maps and the right half is split between I think "Phone" (top right) and "Now Playing" (bottom right). I've rearranged the order of apps in my iPhone's CarPlay settings, but there is nothing there that I can find that lets you...
