The ride is still incredible for a truck IMO. I cannot point the finger at either the kit or tires as I had them installed at the same time, but the ride is slightly stiffer. I would guess the 10 ply tires pumped up to 55 psi in the front is the culprit. But I prefer the more truck like ride...
That is some good information! I will be honest I have not taken the time to look in the engine bay much since I got the truck. Since the seem to have redesigned the air box some, would you say that makes aftermarket CAI novelty items unless you have heavily modified? I agree the accordion tube...
I am running on the assumption that the existing opening is a restriction, i.e. the throttle body can open and pull more air than the current opening can provide in ‘X’ amount of time. If my assumption is correct, more available inlet volume should increase throttle response and cooler air will...
I’m not sure what fluid dynamic effects would come into play. The losses associated with the pipe wall would be minimal/negligible for such a short run of pipe in this application. And air will always move naturally from an area of high pressure to low pressure.
I think the real benefit to...
I have the same tires on my truck, the best AT tire I have had to date! They do not look as aggressive as the Duratracs (barely IMO) but I prefer the side wall of the Coopers.
What pressure are you running for on road use?
Cut off the mini water heater muffler and welded on a Carven Type R muffler. Left resonators on.
I told the guy to weld the weep holes shut but it sounds like he missed one to me...
Yes I thought that also, but with the wheel well opening remaining, the engine would never have enough suction to draw up any amount of water and the pressure differential would then favor the wheel well as the primary air source.
I also might try this in the spring, if it doesn’t workout or I...
I was searching the inter web and came across a mod for the stock air box the 4th gen guys are using.
It involves adding a 3” hose to the bottom of the air box to increase the available volume of air. The other end of the hose is routed somewhere to the front of the vehicle and down low to...
Thank you, a few months of back and forth and I am happy with my decision to get a new truck!
I have not been on the eastern side of the state too much, was in philly a few times to see the historical landmarks!
I almost went with the KO2s but decided on the Coopers and am glad I did, they are performing great in the snow.
Thank you, the quad cabs are sweet, especially if you don’t have passengers often. Plenty of space in the back of you flip the seats up!
Got these tires on my truck, 275/70r18, and I love them so far. They do like a lot of air, I have the Front at 50 psi and back at 45 psi and feel like I could go up some more 55f/50r. Curious what other guys ran it at?
Just had the first major ice/snow storm and no issues, went great!
I’m no expert in marketing/sales but my guess would be most people opting for the limited trim level would want a higher engine option to go along with it. The demand might not be there for the gas V6.
The way I am thinking is that most people willing to pay for a limited truck will not be as...
