I installed mine and I just have one advice. If you have a factory spray in bed liner make sure u use a dremel with a diamond flat bit to router the liner around the pre drilled holes. You need to remove almost all of the thick bed liner spray around the hole or the nut-rivet will not grab on...
I installed mine right out of the box without any cutting involved. All I did is replace the two brackets and it fit in perfectly. Will take pictures tomorrow if needed.

I think you guys are way overthinking this.
I replaced the brackets with the 3/8 ones and installed the retrax cover and it all fit and functioned with no issues.
I just have to see why I have two small drips between the slots of the cover otherwise I’m extremely happy with it.

I think it’s best used if you bring the tailgate down the traditional way when I swing it open I have the weather tech step at the tow hitch which is much preferable to use in my opinion

I purchased the side step and installed it my self. I have a mft and it bolted right on following the instructions included.

Do you use the bushings, brackets and bolts that come with the kit or the original ones? I have seen videos that have used either and wondering what is best.
