Right, I'm just taking about the install labor, not the part.
What header costs the same and has good fitment? Seems like most reviews I have seen on shorty's has had poor fitment or they are really expensive.
Nice find! I've been waiting for over a month with the OEM on backorder. Tempted to call the dealer to see if they would install this under warranty.
Anyone have any experience with these?
I installed myself from here: How to get radio update files
No noticeable differences. It does NOT do full screen AA.
Install went smooth and no issues since the update.
The highest version I see in that link is 39.9 - which is my current version.
The TSB in this post shows a newer version, 40.1 -> Ongoing "Wi-Fi connected, no internet" issues
I would love to manually install it like the previous files posted at that link!
Does anyone have the file(s) to manually update uconnect, similar to what was provided with PR39.9?
Secondarily, one of the fixes/updates listed is "Android Auto Enhancements". Can anyone confirm what that is? Hoping for full screen AA, but I haven't seen anyone post that they have this version...
Check out this post Ram made last night: Ongoing "Wi-Fi connected, no internet" issues
Seems like that would be applicable to your issue. Not sure if the dealers have access to 40.1 yet though.
That's great!! Hoping the Android auto enhancement is full screen!
Will the update files be available for download and manual install or just over the air?
Ended up getting it to work. You have to make sure the clamp is more on the tip side than the main exhaust side. Both clamps are bottomed out - the tips aren't quite as secured as OEM, but they wont move during normal use.
Going to give them a call, tried earlier and no answer. All the videos I saw online looked like the clamp was bottomed out too.
Really trying to avoid welding these...might just return them. I couldn't find any posts around this issue in the past and I know there are a bunch of these installed...
Hey Guys - just got the 5" Carven tips for my '20 1500. Is there trick to getting them locked down? I bottom out the clamp and still cannot get them tight. It seems like either the clamp is all the way on the truck side (where it would be for OEM), or not on enough to get a good grab on the tips.
I have since added a 6" Round Magnaflow (12619) upstream of the exhaust to tame the cold start (it was really loud). It worked great and I would say I am now in between stock and GT volume levels.
So after reading an excellent thread in the Rebel sub-forum, I pulled the trigger and ordered the GT exhaust for my 2020 Laramie. Thanks to Dookie and Cbty2050 for their contributions to that thread as it was excellent. I ordered 68517364AA and 68517365AA from BAM Wholesale for $750 shipped...
I test drove a GT on Tuesday and immediately ordered the exhaust for my '20. Best combination of volume - both on throttle and cruising. Absolutely zero drone anywhere in the rpm band.
They really crushed it with this one!!
Not sure what they programed as the only thing you need to program is the tank size and once that is done your range will be correct. It is a 5m procedure with AlphaODB.
