I'm a bit annoyed it's taken me 5 years to figure this out. I've always thought it was odd how many complained about the boomy bass on the HK system with ANC and then how many said it sounded awesome. I suspect I figured this out due to my bass enhancements a few months ago where it's either...
I know there's been a lot of discussion over the years about the dreadful sound out of the HK sub. Many have spent $$$ in DSP adapters, extra amps, and premium subs. I priced out a JL Stealthbox and amp and thought, "wow, this is more than my first two cars combined." So I started looking at how...
EDIT - I've renamed this to "Success" as I finally figured it out! Skip to here to read the solution or keep on to read all the gory details.

I've got the 12" HK system and replaced the dash speakers with Infinity's years back. Easy, cheap...
UPDATE: I know I read somewhere that Ram was using aluminum rear doors in the launch materials back in '18 but after reading some of these comments below I put a magnet on my doors and they are steel. My apologies to RAM. I will now only blame children in parking lots - and their parents.
Now...
I signed up last year for the Indigogo AAWireless adapter for Android Auto and wanted to provide some feedback and tips. FWIW, I also had the CPlay2air Carplay adapter briefly before I traded in the iPhone 12 for a Samsung S21. That's a long story but I'm so much happier with Android.
TL;DR...
Just wanted to post some old wisdom. My grandfather used to say this as he was a simple man who was the HS principal and football coach in a small town in West Texas. It translates to "the more stuff you have, the more problems you are going to have" and yes, this applies to trim levels too. You...
I got a yellow postcard in the mail asking me to participate in a market research study to "help design the future of Ram 1500 trucks!" Took about 15 minutes and lots of questions on what types of roads I drive, percentage of time driving on them, etc. After that collection, it then began asking...
Haven't seen anyone with one installed yet, but they are now for sale. As figures, not compatible with RamBox or Multifunction tailgate. Definitely would be interesting with the available lights.

Very cool demonstration by U-Haul on how/why to load a trailer properly - and what can go wrong if you don't:

I'll pay someone $5 who can tear down a 2019 DT HVAC system and show pictures of the flappers, blend doors, whatever that can answer a lot of these questions like heat mixing in, vent position with defrost leakage, etc.
Anyone else want to up the ante? If enough of us want to part with what...
Not an endorsement or commentary on how legal this may/may not be, but Diode Dynamics just emailed me that they now have a new multicolored kit for the midline Ram trims. Looks like fun if you're into this sort of thing...
A guy was eyeballing my truck as I came back out to it so we talked a little and I showed him a few things. Went down the first rabbit hole of him saying, "I could never drive a Dodge." To which I replied, "me either." The look of surprise on his face was priceless. I then said, "show me the...
Going to be moving my daughter's college stuff (again) so I wanted to ensure the MX4 (this could also apply to other models using similar rails) was more waterproof than the original install. Now in no way do I think this is fully waterproof, just water resistant as the lawyers would say.
I...
Interesting article with insights from Ford, GM, FCA, and Mercedes on turbo vs. supercharger. Some details on the Hellcat and why FCA went supercharged instead of turbo:

Dang. That's double what I'm getting. IF it truly gets 33 in the real world...
I've had poor shifting since a few months after getting the truck last September and had the RRTs applied last year and new flashes a few weeks back. In both cases it shifted like a dream when leaving the dealership. So smooth you couldn't tell when it shifted up or down. But then by the next...
Just got an email from Diode Dynamics that everything is on sale 20% off through the 5th. Use coupon code JULY4 and profit. I used the HP36 cargo lights and they are plenty bright. No need for the XP50's at nearly double the price.
Looks like Mopar is now offering the integrated bed rails with cargo cleats that allow the OEM tonneau cover to attach to the rails. The images look suspiciously like the RamBox rails but maybe this will help someone out?
