    Moaning-Droning-whatever: very frustrated

Well, it's NOT the active air dam. Puller the plug after I heard the noise - got back in - drove some more - still moaning. Highly doubtfull it's the grill shutters. That leaves the MDS idea and a potential ghost or poltergeist! Damn - forgot to check for harmonicas :ROFLMAO:

Appreciate everyone's ideas. I'll try recording the sound on my next drive.

Next time it starts, pull the F12 fuse. I'm told that will stop it instantly as it removes power to the ANC. If that does the trick - you need to ANC TSB applied. Mine kept right on moaning, but oddly enough it never moans if I'm not moving. Leaning towards the Active Air damn or grill...

It doesn't sound like any kind of bearing. No squeak at all, and it doesn't vary with speed or rpms - just on it's own.

Thanks for the laugh! That would be a real hoot!

No. Sometimes I go for miles before it starts. Once it starts though, it usually moans for a while although as I said in my post, it goes up, goes down, stops, restarts, etc.

Not following your thoughts. How would an exhaust leak or muffler going out cause these noises? Nothing seems to make it start or stop - just happens randomly. That said, I'm about due to change the oil so I'll take a good hard look underneath while the oil is draining. Thanks for the thoughts.

    Moaning-Droning-whatever: very frustrated

My truck has gotten progressively worse over the last month or so. After doing a lot of searching in the forums, I was convinced it was the ANC system. It happens when I'm alone in the truck or with a passenger in the front. I very rarely have anything or anyone in the backseat. Yesterday on...

    Active noise cancelling

Jumping into an older thread on "droning". My truck has gotten progressively worse over the last month or so. After doing some searching on this forum, I was convinced it was the ANC system. Yesterday on my way home from work, it started doing it again, so I pulled over, left the truck...

    Horn wiring

I went out and checked. I followed the wires from the firewall to the stock horn. in and around the battery area is where I tapped into the wiring to add the 2nd set of horns. No way anyone is going to be able to cut or pull the wiring that deep in and has to be impossible without raising the...

    Horn wiring

8 months ago - can honestly say I don't remember but will try to check this weekend and post back when I trace it. Top of my head, I tapped into the existing horns wires deeper in the engine compartment but give me a chance to verify.

wiring diagram and/or brake light switch attached to brake pedal

I do not have an visual or audible method of knowing if the braking system has activated the truck brakes behind my RV. I'm sure iot works, but it would be nice to get feedback somehow. The system came with a light that would mount in the top of the windshield, but as I indicated, I can't...

Nope - gave up as it might be beyond my limited capabilities with vehicle wiring and electronics.

    Protecting our trucks from theft

For me, start button kill switch, 2nd horn installed with wiring deeper in the engine bay, and the Faraday box inside my house. Like most others have said - if they want it bad enough, all they gotta do is drag it onto a flat bed. Aside from that, I feel pretty good about what I did and don't...

    Oil catch can

Installed my Mishimoto catch can today - piece of cake. Hardest part was putting the plastic engine cover back on (lol). Very happy with the design - especially the bracket.
