Not especially because of these 8 speeds and the Hemi. I have the 3.21 rear so 6th gear is about all I see on the top end. I really didn't see much difference with the lift and tires over stock, other than maybe if there is a good head wind...maybe. These trucks are impressive these days...
No worries, your have plenty of truck for the job as long as you have a weight distributing, anti-sway hitch setup for that tongue weight. I tow this 33', 7,400 lbs trailer fairly easily at 70 mph and it has dual 6V big batteries and dual propane bottles on the tongue.
Another vote for the B2 Fab muffler delete...kept the resonators...it sounds beautiful and does not drone. It makes noise, but not loud and is deep and smooth.
No problem, but go ahead and get an anti-sway, weight distribution hitch. I have towed without one, but it really helps to make the trips smoother and with less drama. It will also counteract excessive tongue weight and squat. These trucks are impressive.
My TT is 33' long and 7,500lbs and...
That is really too much weight for a 1500 on a regular basis. I have had both a 2500 Hemi with the 8 speed and now a 1500 e-torque.
My travel trailer is 7,500lbs and the 1500 actually pulls it better than the 2500 did. I know, hard to believe, but I was fairly disappointed with the 2500 392...
ReadyLIFT 3.50-Inch SST Suspension Lift Kit - 35's. It rides and drives like stock (still using stock shocks). I tow two trailers loaded up the bed and been off-road with zero issues. It has been a very nice kit for the money. However, you aren't going to gain any 'performance' upgrade, just...
I vote sliders and ones that stick out a little more...when you play the game, eventually a boulder or a tree says hi. I have named him Stew...Stew the angry boulder that was having a bad day, recognized "fake sliders", and pounced.
I am running the B2 muffler delete, which is essentially what you see above but a bent pipe and has the flanges on the ends. I kept the resonators and the truck sounds amazing. I got the delete thinking it would be too loud and was probably going to get the mid-volume version, knew it would be...
18's ride better than 20's typically. The sidewall give a little cushion. My father's RAM with the 20's rode noticeably harsher than mine did stock with the factory 18's. Being an off-road guy, smaller wheels and taller tire sidewalls are the way to go.
That is a great looking truck! I would have gone that exact color scheme had they of had one on the lot and I didn't get such a good deal at the time. You will be very happy with its comfort and its ability to do truck stuff. I tow a 7,500lb trailer, fill the bed with stuff, motorcycles, etc...
For a 9" wheel, Method's +12mm offset is as perfect as you can get for fat tires, if you don't want that "poke" that many brodozers are running. It fills the fender wells as much as you can before adding poke if that makes since.
I am running equal to a 35x13.5R18 and the inside of the tire is...
I'm a Jeep guy and 63 lbs a tire is not nuts, but it is what the 37x12.5r17s I am running on my Gladiator weigh. On my Ram, the Recon 325/65R18's weigh about 71 lbs, but I went with 18" wheels for more sidewall because I off-road the truck. I also have 3.21's.
If it's a V8, you probably...
It totally changes the experience of driving these trucks...the V8 rumble is unmistakable. Borla makes excellent stuff. Ever hear a Ford Ecoboost with exhaust? 🤮
This may or may not be true. It is true that not all 18's fit, but some do. When balancing, they will need to ensure to stick the weights on the inside of the wheel where the calipers won't knock them off.
Method 18" fit.
The 6.4L is disappointing in the 2500. I had a 2500crew cab, 4wd, with the 8 speed and my 1500 5.7L etorque is quicker and tows better. I know, it sounds wrong but my 1500 tows my 7,400lbs travel trailer better than my 2500 with the 6.4L did. I was surprised but it does. Maybe when you get...
Stats are stats on the new engine and they are impressive, but getting the first generation of an engine...no thanks.
That being said, nothing sounds like a big V8 with exhaust. I would expect the new engine to do well, but it won't sound like a hemi or feel like one (see Ford's eco-boost 6...
You should be good. I recently rotated mine after 5k miles and the worn tire fit without airing it down. My recons are actually slightly larger than a 35x12.5 typically is and wider.
