    2025 RAM 1500 BIGHORN 3.0 I HURRICANE twin-turbo, SO, 420HP - check engine light

This should be interesting. Please keep us updated since if this one fails using the same fuel, it might support that the failures are a SW issue. It will also be interesting to know if the transmission on the later truck is smoother.

    2025 RAM 1500 BIGHORN 3.0 I HURRICANE twin-turbo, SO, 420HP - check engine light

It sounds like they didn't show you a sample of "contaminated fuel". The answer you describe from the tech would make me look for another dealership. When you told your plan to the Tech did you say the most famous phrase with Arnold's accent?

    2025 RAM 1500 BIGHORN 3.0 I HURRICANE twin-turbo, SO, 420HP - check engine light

I've seen implausible timing DTC's for a GM vehicle where the encoder on an exhaust camshaft spun so the timing between the intake and exhaust camshafts was "implausible." Basically the SW in the engine controller said this can't happen based upon all other components working correctly...

    2025 RAM 1500 BIGHORN 3.0 I HURRICANE twin-turbo, SO, 420HP - check engine light

Hopefully the Stelantis dealers aren't PITA's like GM was with the Ecotec engines. The next argument could be the contaminated gas caused damage and that damage is excluded from warranty as well. In the case of Ecotec's they burned oil. If you took one to a dealership for a problem without...

    2025 RAM 1500 BIGHORN 3.0 I HURRICANE twin-turbo, SO, 420HP - check engine light

Must be badly contaminated if the sample size required to identify the issue is so small it can evaporate from a sealed container. I assume they didn't just put a little on a napkin and say, lookie here, it's contaminated...

2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

Filthy (even in the background), I wouldn't let them tear my engine apart.

    2025 RAM 1500 BIGHORN 3.0 I HURRICANE twin-turbo, SO, 420HP - check engine light

From the picture and write-up, it looks pretty similar to servicing a GM Ecotech 2.4L. Changing Phasors wasn't a big deal and neither was an exhaust camshaft on my friends GM that I worked on. I can't believe the 3.0 SST is much more difficult once one has access to the valve train. The big...

    Trump Shot?

This (quote below) was pretty obvious in one of the videos I watched last night trying to figure out what happened and raised questions why the SS didn't intervene onstage sooner... "According to some video and media reports, the Secret Service counter-sniper on a nearby rooftop was aiming at...

Forged Good news and Not As Good News

I was burning brush this weekend. Trust me, you can smell a fire even when it's a long way away.

    2025 RAM 1500 BIGHORN 3.0 I HURRICANE twin-turbo, SO, 420HP - check engine light

My take on the 2024 model is it was rolled out early. I'm used to seeing the next years model after the summer shutdown/retooling. Releasing in January seems like a half year change as ocurred in the 60's. If the argument is SW wasn't ready, then why roll the launch out early. They should...

2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

I'm hoping someone posts a picture of the 2025 tow mirrors. I can't tell a thing from the online reviews and pictures. If their always in Moose mode, then no thank you. If they rotate into Moose mode and telescope back in when not towing, that might be cool.

2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

Looks like it's called out at 2:28 in the video. Hands free mode requires a subscription after the initial 3 year trial. So I assume hands on assist does not require a subscription.

2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

Interesting. Why does it need a cellular connection? Does ACC function without a cell plan? What is the long term cost to keep the features purchased with the vehicle active?

    2025 Ram 1500 Order Updates

I'm waiting another six to nine months when the RamCharger finally comes out. Any idea if the MFT can be upgraded to include the power close option in the standard Tungsten tailgate? Obviously not for the barn door feature, but when simply opened like a normal tailgate...

    2025 RAM 1500 BIGHORN 3.0 I HURRICANE twin-turbo, SO, 420HP - check engine light

I bought an AUTEL unit years ago expecting it would last forever since they had lifetime SW updates. They introduced a new unit and obsoleted mine, so it's life was over. I'd consider the AlphaODB or other SCAN SW posted on this site. Pay the license fee and hopefully they keep it up to date...

2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

The instructions for remove and discard really caught my eye. Has the inteligence of service reps really slipped so far as to have to publish work instructions in comic book form? I'd hate to see how they document changing main bearings or piston rings. The coolant or oil change instructions...

    2025 Ram 1500 Order Updates

I think you're referring to the RHO prommiser app. I doubt there will be a 2025 RHO builder at SHAP for a few months yet. How many others feel special and have their own dedicated vehicle tracker person? How many trucks is this person tracking? How often is the status checked? What...

New 2024 Ford F-150 First Look: If It Ain't Broke, Add Stuff

You got lucky. Lately the installation cost for a generator that size is about 8K (without the generator) in my neck of the woods. But before I derail this topic, I currently use a 15KW PTO generator for backup. The 7.2KW's are a little light for my taste, but in the case of an emergency it...

2025 Ram 1500 Current Owners - Discussion, Feedback, and Problems

Since some are looking to add the brake controller, can you comment on the RF hub and rear window frame when you do this? Did Stellantis address the vulnerability for the HUB or just put the brake controller at the same risk of being damaged if the window is open or if the frame leaks?
