2021 Ram 1500 Potential Purchase, Questions Galore.....Please Help

I have ridden in this truck a few times. The suede looks and feels great. It’s petty maintenance free I think as well. Riding in this truck is what made me buy one too, although a much less expensive Hemi Bighorn.

    New Ram owner

Mine had an occasional lifter tick during start up 3-5 times in the first 1000 miles. Now that I have 4000 Miles it seems to have stopped. LifteRs wearing in maybe. My sons 2020 warlock had the same thing but it stopped around 1000 miles.

    Are you using your E-Locker?

All right, I will admit it. Over 4000 miles now. I stopped the other night with my kids in the truck. Stopped on a quiet and damp country road in the early evening. Turned on the e-locker, pressed the pedal to the floor and and proceeded to create a lot of smoke and noise. I giggled for...

How many miles on your 5th Gen 1500?

Just turned 4000 miles. Bought it July 23rd. No issues other than a tire out of balance. I absolutley made the right choice for this vehicle. Just trying to decide which undercoating to Bathe it with in the next 30 days, to keep it perfect, forever.

Great Inexpensive Rear Pet Seat Cover

I bought my first one and was very disappointed. No use of armrest or middle seat belt. I ended up giving it to my son for his Warlock. I ordered this replacement for $33.00. Easy to install, durable material and it allows the middle shoulder belt and armrest to be used. It installed in 5 mins...

We're Not Off To a Good Start...(Engine Replaced!!!)

I will say, I have had a lifter tick once or twice in mine with under 1000 miles at first remote start. It is a loud ticking, but from the top of the motor. It has not done in in the last 3000 miles, so my guess is the lifters were getting seated and broken in still. It was only for seconds...

We're Not Off To a Good Start...(Engine Replaced!!!)

WOW! that was quick. My goodness. Please keep us posted on the outcome. You have only had it for a week or so....The White Quad cab if I remember with sunroof.. I certainly would not wish this on anyone. Will the selling dealer help and get it towed to them, vs you having to pay? I am...

Rustoleum Roll In 2 Part Bedliner Installation

My sons 2013 F150 was used by a masonry contractor for its first 11 years of life. Also, the ARE fiberglass Tonneau cover on it was not kind to the top edges of the bed. This weekend we installed a Rustoleum 2 part Epoxy bedliner kit in his truck. The prep, due to the amount of scratches and...

    Tire/Wheel Protection

A used or refinished rim will be less expensive than your warranty, if you need it. Many rims can now be repaired too. Just consider the option. Good luck.

Edited: I cancelled my Mopar extended warranty but reactivated it after some good advice on here!

It may cost a little more than today but wait until your factory warranty is close to expiring. If your truck is great, consider going without. If you’ve had a lot of repairs, consider a warranty.

    Ice scraper recommendation

Agreed that this is a good design. They will be on sale at Wally World soon. I paid $10-15 last year for this model in Blue. It lasted all season and broke in the spring. So a yearly purchase I guess. Anything should work in your neck of the woods. I drove home to Maine through the NC/VA...

First time leasing. Looking for advice.

You should be good. They do not know you leased it. Leasing can be a great deal. My son did a 2020 warlock Hemi lease. When he buys it after 42 months, he will have paid under $35K for the truck. I leased a 2013 crew 4x4 Hemi express in 2013 for $179/mo, 24 months.. I had so much fun with...

I would just search the forum. With over a million HEMI's out there, I am sure someone has had that issue. Sounds like you may get a new motor as they rarely open them up for repair. I assume under warranty and in the dealers hands? It is not MDS lifter related, as that is Cylinder 1, 4, 6...
