This is what I was thinking as well. With a lot of searching and a little patients you can find great deals on low mileage factory take-offs that will save you the mount & balance fees, and if you can install them yourself you save even more money.

No tire change will result in any significant Improvement in MPG. What will is steady highway miles in high gear at low RPM. (8th gear at 60 MPH)
