I turned mine on.
You won't have a hood switch or the unlock button on the outside door handle. (That IS a "thing"... right?)
But otherwise it works perfectly. (They gotta be in the cab to pop the hood, anyway, so the lack of a hood switch is immaterial to me.)
You all know the ramps... Those aluminum things that are sold online or at Harbor Freight. They are hung on the edge of the open tailgate and the ATV is driven up into the bed.
Are our tailgates strong enough to support those ramps without bending or folding in half? (Our ATV is an old Honda...
I had a friend who swore that GMCs were more reliable than the same year, otherwise identical, Chevys. (He was specifically talking about Safari and Astro minivans.) Until he found out they actually were assembled in the same plant, on the same line, by the same workers. Doh!
Most likely, you do not. The "sentry key theft deterrent system" is the programmed fob, that is required to be in the truck, before it will start.
Mine was the same way.
The semantics are kind of confusing, when you're looking at window stickers and option equipment groups. Probably by design...
I'm sure that it can. Whether they'll do it, as a stand-alone, is another question altogether.
With that said, I turned mine on with AlfaOBD.
Works perfectly, with the exception of there not being a hood switch. (Which is perfectly okay with me. People around here mostly break into cabs, not...
One thing I "love" about FCA. There seems to be no uniformity, or accountability, regarding their dealer network. They all seem to be making it up, as they go. :cautious:
I didn't even go to look at the GMC / Chevy up close. Even at a distance, I think they're fugly. And the magazines hated them. (2018s were a consideration, but they were all gone, by the time I was ready to buy.) Fords are... well, Fords.
I love my Ram.
I went with the FlowFX. Instead of getting the "direct fit" version, I just had my muffler guy order the muffler and install it.
Cost me $182, out the door, including tax. Took less than a half hour. Beats hell out of $310, and doing it myself.
Seemed like a Win-win. :D
The sound?
The best way...
My wife had much the same response.
I find that the Flow FX sounds much like stock, only more-so.
It rumbles at low RPM and low speed, but it's not obtrusive. It "talks" when you hammer it, but it's not obnoxious. Not by a long shot.
My main requirements were no drone, and not so loud that I...
FWIW, my refinancing, not refinancing, or paying off early, was never discussed with my dealer. Verbally or contractually.
I was only halfway considering a re-fi (or a payoff) and then the bank showed me a button that said "payoff amount".
If you offer it, I'm going to go for it.
But thanks...
My dealer gave me a 5.2% rate through a third party lender. This with a ~800 credit score.
Think I felt bad for re-financing? Not for a millisecond.
My credit union even gave me a "new vehicle" rate. Said that people do this all the time.
And make no mistake... the dealer will bend you over at...
I just got my FlowFX installed, yesterday. Instead of going with the direct fit for $310, I opted for the basic muffler, and had my local shop install it. Cost me $175 installed, and took about 20 minutes, in and out.
Retained the stock muffler in case I hated the FX. (I know why it's described...
I also disabled mine, using the procedure posted above. (Thanks all.)
We occasionally have to drive across a rather rutted pasture, on the farm (It's why I bought this truck - a 4WD, in the first place.)
I'm never going fast enough to hurt anything, but the seatbelt snatches you around, if it's...
I really like the way mine shifts, except for when it jumps down into 1st when I hit the gas at a stop sign. I would be just as happy if it remained in 2nd unless I really hammered the gas from a stop. I'm sure that FCA could modify that in the programming. I'm not sure they WOULD, however.
I...
I hate the "auto park" thing, when you're trying to back up with the door open.
I get it. It's a "safety" feature. But there should be an "interlock" button that you can press, before you shift into reverse, in order to defeat that system, if you're going to have the door open. Some people use...
If you've never dealt with Crutchfield, their tech support is quite good. I would be inclined to just call them. They generally know their stuff.
(I also might need to know this stuff at some point, but it's way down my list of priorities, so I haven't bothered, yet.)
Good luck.
My opinion is that our trucks may run a bit better on 89 than on 87, but there is no harm in using 87.
I'm basing this on the fact that my truck didn't seem to have quite as much power, "hammer down", when I filled up the tank with 87. I'm speculating that the engine controls detected a bit of...
