I love that an engineer took the time to show the exact differences with math and actual numbers and yet this thread is 18 pages long. I keep coming back (with popcorn in hand) because it's just SO entertaining to read how people believe their butt dyno over science. Interesting microcosm of the...
I think you're right on the VW specs. I had a Passat TDI. Most profitable car purchase ever thanks to dieselgate. I believe that VW required the 507.00 or whatever spec. I always ordered the LiquiMoly oil and filter kit online for it. It would be interesting to go back and read the VW manual to...
So in your case you have the Hemi which is less of a controversy. I should have specified that I was talking about the Ecodiesel. For the Ecodiesel I find this on page 379:
Diesel Engine Oil Selection For best performance and maximum protection under all types of operating conditions, the...
I'm not trying to point out an error in the manual. That is from the currently downloadable e-manual from the official Mopar site. I'm saying there's a lot of stressing over which oils we HAVE to use but it would seem from simply reading the manual that the REQUIREMENT is API-SN which a ton of...
I see a lot of discussion about the oil specs for the Ecodiesel. I tend to read a research a lot and in everything I read one question kept popping into my head. Before everyone gets completely up in arms please know that I'm asking a legitimate question based on printed material from FCA and...
I hadn't seen that before. It seems to primarily be a way to pay full MRSP to have a dealer deliver a car to you. That's a great deal for the dealer, for you, not so much! (Unless you're extremely high risk for Covid and also HAVE to have a new car right now)
Not to mention that ‘ordering directly from Ram’ is not a thing. Manufacturers don’t sell direct. Except perhaps Tesla but most states prohibit that by law.
I just ordered a well optioned '21 Longhorn. I emailed about 20 dealers within ~300 miles of me. Best price was about $1,800 under invoice according to NADA. Plus any rebates/discounts available when it's delivered. Not bad for exactly the options and colors I want on a brand new model year. Now...
Not really. I talked to the salesman on the phone today to finalize the order. He said the "restriction" means they can't order any more ecodiesels until the next "allotment" which would be the first week of October. Basically, he's processing the order on his side now and FCA won't "accept" it...
I look at the website and try to find the fleet manager if possible. If there aren’t any email addresses I fill out the contact form as a last resort. It seems like 90% of dealers are still doing the old style “come on in and we’ll talk for hours” crap but there are always some who get it and...
I’m ordering a Longhorn. I built it on the site, saved the pdf, and emailed ~25 dealers in NorCal and Southern Oregon. Told them all to email me their best price or any questions. I made a spreadsheet to track responses. Deleted dealers who ignored my request and tried to call me to set up a...
I’m ordering a Longhorn ecodiesel. Several dealers said the diesel is on a “restriction” and they can’t place order until 10/1. Not sure what that indicates.
I'm looking to order one in the next week or so. I'm trying to decipher the interior with and without the "10th Anniversary" package. For the seats, without that package it offers "Black/New Saddle leather trimmed seats" with the 10th Ann. package it says "Black/New Saddle Premium Leather...
It seems like they're still refining some of this and probably correcting a few things. Even the document above still refers to the "Laramie Longhorn" when they've said they're dropping the Laramie part of that name. The online configurator called it a "Limited Longhorn".
The 33 gallon tank is available but not for the Rebel. The E-lock automatically adds the Off Road Package so that's why it jumps in price from what I can see.
Just a heads up that it popped up around mid-day today so if you click 2021 it shows all the 1500's and not just the TRX. Let the daydreaming commence!
Unfortunately they did not add the ventilated seats to the Rebel. The technology group though includes the HUD and a camera rearview mirror...
