They said mine was one of several they had seen with the same issue, not sure how they decided on which part to replace.

Update: After having the dealer look at the problem, they ordered a replacement steering rack for the truck. Of course this was backordered for nearly a month. The replacement seems to have solved the problem and the dealer said was not first time they have dealt with the the same issue...
