Slightly greater load capacity rating than the standard P tires. Ultimately, the load is going to be limited by the rear axle for a 1/2 ton and it's most likely due to the spring rate.
But where does this stop? Why even buy a 1/2 ton? You could make the argument it's not a real truck. Just...
If I smelled burning oil during a drive, I wouldn't think it's a differential issue. I would think oil may be dropping onto an exhaust manifold or something...
Dedicated winter tires do much better on ice than an all season, A/T, or M/T tire. They allow you to control the vehicle much better once you transition from static friction to dynamic friction.

+1. ATs will never be as good as a set of proper winter tires on snow and ice. Especially if the surface underneath the snow/slush/ice is going to be pavement or pcaked gravel.
Does the 1500 even have enough Rear Axle Weight Rating (capacity) for a 5th wheel/goose neck to even be worth it? Didn't think there were that many light 5th wheel/gooseneck trailers out there.
I would imagine this would depend on the type of snow as well as the driving surface underneath the snow. Whether it's wet/dense snow vs. powdery snow. Unless you have ridiculously huge tires to ride on top of the least dense snow out there, a lot of this is going to be dependent on whether...
Is it all attributed to eTorque and not at all to the ZF 8HP75? The ZF 8HP45 on my 335i downshifts when I'm slowing down to a stop and it feels pretty substantial.
I had a similar issue on my 2014 335i which uses te ZF 8HP45 transmission. Damage had already been done due to low ATF. It was eventually replaced under warranty because I had a screen shot of the BMW ISTA Rheingold diagnostic software as well as dash cam video of the transmission slipping...
I think the biggest challenge in this procedure is really waiting on the temperature to come down on the transmission if you exceed the filling temperature range. I wouldn't be surprised that the dealership does this procedure at the end of the day and leaves the truck on the lift in order to...
That is "sort of" correct. I've done this a few times on a BMW and in that case you would want to use the ISTA Rheingold software to do this. However, the only input the software/scan tool does take is from the temperature sensor inside the transmission. If the temperature conditions are met...
Laramie Long horn is heavier than a Limited?
I'm interested in seeing what the payload rating is for a similar Limited but without the E-Torque system, RamBox, and Multi function tailgate. Also, would the Off-Road package have an impact on the payload rating? I would probably opt out of the...
