Thank you. Considering what I’m pulling, I’m intrigued by the additional power of the F-150s 3.5 Ecoboost. Drove it over the weekend and it’s definitely noticeable. It’s a plus over the Ram -trying to determine how much of a plus.
I’ve read conflicting information about whether etorque adds “real, applicable” torque. The 5.7 provides about 410ft/lbs, right? I’ve heard etorque adds ANOTHER 130 ft/lbs, for a total of 540? I’ve also heard it doesn’t. What’s the truth?

That graphic is a little suspicious but nonetheless interesting. I saw a you tube video interview with one of the GM engineers responsible for interior design of the new Silverado and she was touting the fact that they corrected the off-center steering column that was present in the previous...
Maybe there’s a more appropriate place for this question on the forum but I’ll throw it out here.... for anyone that’s gone through this comparison, ram (Ltd) vs F-150 (platinum?) what did your pro/con list look like?
For me towing/torque, comfort of front seats, aftermarket knowledge/...
Thanks for confirming I’m not nuts. It shouldn’t be a big deal but like I said, it kinda got in my head. I liked the F-150 more than I expected so trying to make my list of pros/cons. The additional torque and towing capacity of the 3.5 ecoboost is very appealing for what I’m towing. Feels...
Sorry... I didn’t word my question very well..... I meant it felt like the entire steering column was not placed on the centerline of the drivers seat; felt like it was shifted slightly toward the drivers door. Never noticed it until I drove the Ford and felt a difference.
I’ve been waffling on 1/2 ton vs 3/4 to tow my 8500# boat. I’ve decided a 1/2 ton will meet my needs. We drove both the f150 and Ram today back-back and I noticed for the first time that the Ram steering wheel seems to be off-set to the left a bit. It really got in my head and decreased my...
The "daily driver" question is where I'm stuck. I'd have a 1 ton in the garage for towing and something else for everyday if I could but, I can't. As I've said, I was comfortaable on my towing test drive - I don't really think I'm at much risk of overloading so I guess the decision is good...
While still not 100%, I’m leaning toward the 1500... if it doesn’t do the job next summer, I’ll look to upgrade. I just keep going back to the distance and type of towing/hauling I do and I think the 1/2 ton will meet my needs 99% of the time.
What did you mean by “issues parking their 1500...”?
To solve the payload issue, most anything I put in the truck I could move to the boat for the trips to the cabin. I really think it would be rare that I would hit 800# of payload.
Based on your experience and your best guess about the 2019 2500, would I be disappointed in it as a daily...
Took it to the truck scale before I put it away... tongue weight in 700#. (which I was concerned about. It ties fine-no swaying, etc.). Current weight of the boat is actually 8540#... I estimated 8800# to accommodate some additional weight. And.... I’d say my 800# payload estimate would...
I was comfortable during my little test. My former boat was about 5800# which the Tahoe handled fine. I felt like the RAM handled the new rig as well and maybe better than the Tahoe handled the former.
I’m a conservative driver when towing .. especially when towing 4 tons. I suspect...
Great question! The boat was a late season acquisition; just got it in August and since boating and towing season is now unfortunately over in MN, I’ve been able to take my time in my search for a new vehicle.
We don’t have a lot of additional stuff... estimating maybe 600# in passengers...
I tow an 8800# boat/trailer and my 2015 Tahoe won't cut it. I've been a GM guy but love the look of the new RAM. Did a test drive towing my boat w/ a 1500 Limited and it seemed to be solid - acceleration/power was good, no issues stopping, etc. However, guys that know trucks better than I are...
