I am struggling with the decision between 4" and 6" on mine... Definitely looking forward to seeing more pictures of the 4" system installed to compare.
Are the Toyos 35x12.5R20, or are they something different?
You could run a wheel spacer and keep the Rebel wheels, saves a little money for the short term.
I'm not aware of any hard and fast rules regarding the delta, but I can tell you from experience that getting out on a 31" spare with 35's on the ground was a non-issue for me one time way back when. I had about 3 miles of technical trail left to run, and then about 20 miles of forest service...
"Good quality spare" in my vernacular means it is of the same quality as the four on the ground... Just because it's a spare tire doesn't mean it has to be some underrated maypop brand? So, for example, on one of my Jeeps I'm running 37" BFG KO2's and a 33" BFG KO2 spare. Same quality tire...
Not to start a whizzing match and mess up the OP's thread, but how exactly are sharp rocks, mud, and other "bad stuff" going be different with a good quality spare tire? The minimal gain in ground clearance between a 33" and a 35" spare tire are most certainly not going to be the difference...
My $0.02 on the subject... A spare is a spare, nothing says it has to match the other four on the ground. It's only job would be to get you back to where the damaged tire can be repaired/replaced. Keep a good quality spare tire in the factory location and use it when/if you need it.
The driver seat base on my truck has developed a squeak/groan that seems to be within the foam of the seat itself? You can squeeze the hip bolster area and hear/feel the noise, almost like dragging your fingers over an inflated balloon. There have been no spills or anything, and I've vacuumed...
Sorry if this has been covered, but how much sag are you guys seeing on the front end after installation? I'd like to go with one of these setups but I want to ensure it's going to work in my overall plan and not throw my suspension height(s) all out of whack... I'm used to seeing 1/2" to 3/4"...
Just installed a Bedrug in mine over the weekend. I use my truck to haul many things, but never to haul gravel/mulch or any sort of loose material like that. I also do camp in the open bed sometimes, so this fit my needs quite well and I'm happy with how it turned out!
So what have you experienced regarding measured squat (or heck even a visual comparison) when using the bags versus not? I am getting zero results regardless of how/when I apply air pressure, so I'd love to hear from you what you've seen?
Your experience with the bags on your '16 is right in line with what I have seen in the past with all of my others. Even with minimal air pressure they added significant stability, etc. These just, well, don't?
I did read the part about inflating first and then loading, and I tried that last...
Ahhhh, see here I was thinking the North Edition factory 1" lift was only pertinent to the front... more or less a leveling kit effect... But you're saying it's 1" taller at all four corners? Now that makes some sense as to why it appears the airbags have no effect!! Thanks for the feedback!!!!
I recently installed the Airlift 1000HD kit on my pickup, p/n 60828HD, which has a 2,100 pound rated capacity. I loaded up the trailer and then added 45psi to the bags (50psi max rating), and was shocked to see zero, and I mean zero, difference in ride height. The airbags did literally nothing...
