Oh ok. Thank you for the input.
I do them every 10,000kms because I figured since I’m saving some money performing them myself, I can afford to do them more often. Never had a diesel before, just want to take extra good care of it so it lasts.
Did an oil analysis on my 2020 Ecodiesel. 20,000kms
Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W40
Any input about the results would be much appreciated, as I don’t really know what I’m looking for. Lol
I don’t know if you are helping the issue with your approach. Theoretically, by always having the DEF tank half full, it will allow for a lot more condensation every time you encounter that cold warm cycle. Since you are also carrying a lesser volume of DEF, that dilution is greater compared to...
Prior to doing my last oil change, I ordered the Cummins fleetguard ISB5.9 fuel/water separator (FS-19855) from cummins.ca. From my research, I was under the impression that it would fit my 2020 Ecodiesel. Just as a backup I also purchased the OEM Mopar fuel/water separator (68436631AA)
Much to...
Did my second oil change on the 2020 Ecodiesel.
20,000km (last one done at 10,000km)
Drained approx 5-6L of oil. Manual calls for 8L at oil change interval. No top ups in between.
Using Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W40, MS-12991.
Will be sending the old oil in for an oil analysis.
Anyone else...
I have not experienced any of those symptoms personally. I do my oil every 10k Kms so I figured I’ll do the diesel separator every other oil change. Probably a bit overkill but not super expensive so I don’t mind.
it was roughly $70+tax at my dealer because of a shop discount I received. Lol. So $80 taxes in. Have you looked on the Cummins website? I think I will order from there next.
Coming up on my second oil change. Last time I flushed the water separator canister, this time I have to change the media filter inside. I purchased the filter from Chrysler ($80CDN). Part number is 68436631AA.
I have heard the Cummins uses the same media filter. Their filter is $27 CDN. Part...
I used the new Gen3 filter (Part # 68507598AA). It is the entire canister not just the media. Although when I did the oil change it looked like originally a Gen 2 filter was installed at the factory.
I have not yet done any research on the diesel fuel filter but I was under the impression there...
Pennzoil was suggested in the manual, is Ms12991 certified, easily attainable and not super expensive. I think the rotella t6 is for the gen2 (I know some dealers still use it/recommend it).
I guess I could top up a litre to bring up the level but if I’m filling with the correct amount at an...
I did my own oil change using Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W40 from Canadian tire. It goes on sale there prettt often. Oil filter was the OEM filter from the dodge dealer. I think I paid around $70CDN (bit of a discount through a friend). After completing the oil change and refilling the oil I recall...
I have not added but I have a hard time reading any oil level on my dipstick at any point, even right after an oil change. I’m at 16000kms and I did my first one at 10000kms. When I did the first oil change, about 6L came out and there was probably around 1L in/around the oil filter. So close to...
Anyone else having trouble reading their oil level on the ED dipstick? I did an oil change about 2 weeks ago, filled to spec. Hard to see any oil level when I check.
A friend has a 19 hemi and the dipstick on that engine is different than on the ED.
