Just added a Lear with the slider windoors an am loving it so far. Being able to open up the sides and get to the bed slide side storage is great.
Quality of the topper is good, the color matching is good too, whomever was installing the windows rushed a bit, but it’s only noticeable if you’re...
Happy birthday! Let me suggest a hellwig rear sway bar as your first upgrade. Won’t regret it!
My upgrades in order of enjoyment
1) Hellwig sway bar ($250)
2) Retrax bed cover with T-tracks ($1,100)
3) Decent tires - I went with 34” KO2s, but to each his own ($800)
4) Vice hidden winch mount w/...
you’re right on all points. The only significant improvement I‘ve seen is the increase in throttle response. Stock, the time it takes the engine to wake up when you floor it is obscene. That went away with the airflow. Worth $900? Nope, but the thing is already installed sooooo......
I’ve got the airflow AND a Pedal Commander and I’ve had the pedal commander off for the most part since I installed the airflow. The improved throttle response that came with the airflow just feels more natural.
I think the pedal commander is a fine option especially when it comes to price, but...
OH! Thought it was odd they didn’t mention payload as it’s always the limiting factor for any half-ton truck. 12k+ towing is pretty normal these days, but if the upper level trims can’t take more than 1000lbs in the bed.... well you’ve seen all the towing threads on the forum. Maybe I missed it.
Quick thoughts.
Overall - Nothing I saw made me reconsider the purchase of my RAM, which was an honest concern. I knew when i bought my RAM that a brand new F150 was around the corner. I’m not brand loyal (i lean toward to GM, but it’s an emotional thing... my dad always had Chevy trucks) and...
By itself the mopar exhaust was embarrassingly loud, mostly it was the cracking and popping as the engine spun up and down again. A great sound on the right car, but was too much for the truck. The added resonator removed the crackle, enhanced the bass, and brought the overall volume down. It’s a...
I Haven’t done much testing yet, but have noticed they perform much better when the hvac is set to auto. If I turn the fan speed of the main blower down manually, the seat vents become almost useless. Turn the main fans back to auto and boom. Cold nuts.
doesn’t make any sense based On what I’ve...
Just got done installing the Borla universal resonator and couldn’t be happier. It’s EXACTLY what I had in mind when i started this mod. I’m so happy that I’m going to create a new post just to draw attention to the setup.
I installed the resonator just behind the small factory muffler and the...
Install was easy peasy. I was able to remove the stock exhaust without cutting or lifting the truck by removing the spare tire and heat shield. Took me 2 hours, but had to join a couple zoom meetings during... probably an hour install if you’re focused. Instructions indicated that I should wrap...
In most half-tons, but especially in the Ram, it really just comes down to preference. They’re both delivering similar (nearly identical) capability and cost over the first 10 years of ownership. Assuming that you run problem free, you’ll be happy with either.
In a 3/4 ton or 1-ton there’s a...
Have had the retraxone XR for 8 months now and haven’t regretted not going with the Pro yet. Honestly, the aluminum slats scared me, living in an area with frequent freezes. Felt safer having the solid piece of plastic rather than slats where water could get in and freeze.
’84 Chevy Chevette 5 door. Got it for $250 when I turned 16 in ’97. Loved that little car! Super clean, no rust, passed inspection on the first try and I was gone, man. First taste of freedom.
No doubt it’s the best looking install so far. You’re not worried about having the facia plastic sandwiched between the mount and the fairlead or did you put a more substantial spacer of some sort between them?
I’ve come to like it. Have never had it in other vehicles, but can imagine it’s not as good as others... everyone’s descriptions of it are accurate; reacts a little too late and a little too harshly. BUT having two young kids, there are times that I have to reach back to find a pacifier or...
You’re a patient man! Love it... was thinking about doing the exact same thing, but there’s no way I’ll be pulling that bumper back off anytime soon.
Looks great!
