How many miles do you have? I have just over 9k, and it hasn’t done it for close to 2 mos. Have no idea why it stopped...didn’t do anything different other than starting it a lot with remote start.
It's TSB Number 05-001-19. Involves rear brake noise (basically a squeal or howling noise when backing up, usually in the morning). Mine sounds like when you rub your finger around a crystal glass...you get that "howling" noise.
Have you had it looked at? They had to order the parts for the TSB issue re the rear brakes, so I'll have to wait to see if that fixes it. I feel bad for you, but it is nice to see someone else with the issue...makes me feel like I'm not going nuts!!
Sure, that is probably what's going on, but why would it cause shaking. Sitting in traffic is pretty unavoidable. When I drive my wife's Jeep it doesn't do it. I do have the "howling" brakes issue, so maybe when they replace the caliper pins and pads it will fix the issue. Not sure what else it...
So I just called Ready Lift, and here’s what the tech guy said after conferring with two other techs. On trucks with the ORP, you can use the 3.5” SST lift, but they advise leaving off the preload spacers; or, you can just buy their 2” leveling kit with the upper control arms, which leaves out...
Thanks. Do you know what the stock hub to fender measurement is on a Laramie Crew with ORP? I never took measurements before I had the lift installed. The measurement now is about 25.5”.
Thanks. This is at the bottom of the link you showed me: “NOTE: Not for use on trucks that are factory pre-lifted/leveled or that have the "off-road package". Check factory height prior to ordering or installing. Trucks with more than 22" of wheel hub to fender lip height may require less lift.”...
On every manufacturers website (except Rough Country), they note that their leveling/lift kits are NOT compatible with 1500’s that come with the “Off-Road Package!” I happened to buy a Rough Country suspension lift/leveling kit for my Laramie with the ORP, and I can attest that I have slight...
Wasn’t sure where to post this since I don’t know what’s causing the issue. Let me preface by saying I love my truck! I’m having an issue where the truck vibrates when my foot is on the brake under 2 mph when I’m sitting in traffic, or backing up. I’ve heard it referred to as “Creep mode,” where...
Just wanted to add an update to my thread. I HAVE NOT had the clunk for about a month now! No explanation for why. I haven’t been back to the dealer. I have about 8,000 miles now.
Interesting, my dad said the same thing. He’s retired now, but knows engines in/out... Just to reiterate what it sounds like for anyone joining the thread now, it’s a loud clank (like someone’s hitting something metal with a hammer).
Yep, same here. I have about 7k miles. I have yet to reproduce the loud clank when I remote start it. Only does it when I press the start/stop button in the cab...weird. Good luck!
Oh, I gotcha. I’ve only ever had E rated 10-ply, so I can’t speak to how different the ride would be. All I know is that it’s not so different that I really notice between the stock Falkens that came on the truck.
Yeah, I would say if you just have the leveling kit, you may want to verify with RC on what will fit. I know with the 3.5” you can run 295/65’s, which are what I have. I could be wrong, but you may have to go down one size with the 2” leveling kit.
So far, so good! No squeaks yet. Really not much going on with the kit other than spacers and new upper control arms. Rides basically the same as before.
Someone was asking for pics of tire setups in another thread, so I thought I would post a photo of my truck here for them to see.
I’m running Nitto Ridge Grapplers (295/60/20) on my stock wheels under the Rough Country 3.5” lift kit. I personally liked the look of the factory wheels, so I kept...
