I too had a dash rattle when new, but could not get it into the dealership before we left on a 9,000 mile trip. By the time we returned home, the rattle was gone.
I thought maybe Ram had come up with a self healing dash!
You are not the first I've seen express this, and it puzzles me a bit. I just had a guy ride in the back seat of my CC who is 6' 5" and 325#. He stated he was very comfortable and had plenty of room. Are you maybe refering to the lack of room in a 1500 Quad Cab versus a Crew Cab
I know the 1500 is bigger than before, but I had no idea it was that much bigger! Take this for what it's worth as it is an opinion.... If I had to choose between bed length or wheelbase over leg room, I would pick bed length or shorter wheel base any day. Even the short wheel base is a...
Do you mean smaller than a 2019 1500? My comparison is between the Gen IV cab which seems to be the same, as would be expected. I hadn't considered the new 1500 being bigger, but I guess it is.
I own a "new" 2500 392. It is a Tradesman, but is VERY quiet on the highway. It is getting 1.5 mpg better than my 2016 Bighorn did with 3.73s. It is taller than my 2016 was. I like the styling update and the improvements they've made on these trucks.
As for the comment on the interior...
Finally got the truck back today. It's too early to tell if there will be any measureable gains from this, as I've seen in the past, but I like the sound. It's louder under light acceleration around town and when really standing on it, but otherwise it is mellow.
My fuel economy was...
Well as sometimes happens, he did not have a 3 1/2" in and out muffler on hand. So the truck is in the muffler shop until Monday afternoon.
I guess I'm stuck with my Jeep 'till Monday.
I'm sitting at the shop now. It will be a Magnaflow just like I had on my Power Wagon. It seemed to make the motor more responsive and it did improve gas mileage about 1 mpg. We'll see how it works on this one.
I'm headed to the muffler shop tomorrow for a Resonatordectomy and Muffler Transplant.....both very serious procedures, but the prognosis is for complete recovery and much better performance.
So here's the weight scoop.
These numbers are for the truck with me driving and 1/2 tank of gas.
Steer axle 4150
Rear axle 2950
Total 7100
So from this we can estimate true empty wt for my truck as approximately 6600#, which gives me an actual usefull load of 3400#. My...
I've spent the last hour doing research on numbers. I notice in the chart above there is both a 10000# and a 9900# GVWR. That must be for tax reasons in states like CA. 10,000# or over is probably licensed and taxed as commercial.....maybe? Mine is 10,000# on the door.
Sorry for the bad...
