by the way, as you see my signature line for the forum is stuck in the "rules" ... i now have 19 lines, want to revise it for the new trk and it would be 6 lines, BUT the rules keep me from saving the new signature
i am following this thread .. just bought a 2023 Ram Laramie (only 600 miles) .. w/led head and tail lites .... DRL are OFF in settings ... head lites set on switch to AUTO ... head lites & tail lites are ON during day time ... on my 2021 Gladiator and our 2022 Gladiator i put a 1/2" rubber...
i checked the window sticker and the build sheet for my 2 trks whl bases ... nothing.... but i can tell ya, the wheel to wheel running boards are longer on the 8' bed and when i took my old 8' rubber bed mat and put it in the 6'5" bed, i had to cut off some on the front end of the mat
well, first street bike was 68 Honda 175cl, next 88 Yamaha 750 Virago, then 78 FLH (75 anniv) 25k miles, the 89FLHS 80K miles, the 2005 Honda 750 Aero, the 07 Honda 750 Aero ... quite riding for around 5 yrs and now have the 97 FXSTS ... wife also rides and has had similar bikes .. dirt bikes...
been riding 50 yrs, started off road, trees don't move .... 20 yrs later, i don't heal as fast, moved to street bikes, used to take "circle the great lakes run" each summer or just ride around canada for a few weeks ... quit riding for 5 yrs ... here is my latest bike .... 97 FLSTS

so, you have a 27' travel trailer that is 22 yrs old and only weighs 5,500#s .... really ... i towed a 25' Passport (2018) that CAT scaled at 7,000#s with a 2019 Ram Laramie, payload sticker 1577#s, using a Reese Duel Cam w/1,000# bars, that did the exact same thing .... at about 55mph it began...
i "drive like a grandpa " cause i am .... my MDS is on most of the time .... here in the river hills of PA ... i sometimes wonder if i bought a 6.4 hemi or a 3.2 hemi ... but it does work great for this 70 yr old grandpa
