Just wondering if anyone knows if the bulkhead of the bed (closest to the cab) is a double layer with a void between the two layers (like the bed-sides are) or just a single layer. Wanting to do a mod that will potentially require drilling into the bulkhead but need more info before I commence...
So to confirm, I could plug that cable i linked ( but male to female) into the existing cable in the CHMSL that currently terminates in the current CHMSL camera, run the cable out of the CHMSL and seal it, then run it to the rear of the topper, plug it into a camera and be good to go?
If i go...
I think i want to buy a new camera and leave the existing camera in the CHMSL. I am assuming my '22 1500 Limited doesn't have the bumper outlet like the HDs do, so I am going to need to run cable from the CHMSL, thru or over the topper, then to the rear of the topper near the topper's 3rd brake...
yeah, I figured the FAKRA cable part out, just trying to decide if I buy the complete unit from camerasource which is technically a back up camera, but includes cable, new camera and housing, or just buy a cable, remove and use the existing camera, and try to figure out a solution for a housing...
here is the solution if I decide to use the existing camera and just move it to the back of the topper. https://www.pasternack.com/fakra-plug-fakra-jack-rg316u-cable-assembly-pe38756b-p.aspx
supposedly the cameras can be found for under $200 if you look around enough
This cable SHOULD plug directly into the existing wiring in the CHMSL, run the cable over the back of the topper and mount the camera on the tail end of the topper. Just have see if the camera shows a similar view. Adjustable Relocation Kit With Camera Included, Fits 2019-2022 RAM® 1500 W/360...
recently put a Leer 100xr on my 2022 Limited. Between the truck can rear window tint and the tint of front and rear windows of the Leer topper, seeing using the rearview mirror is now impossible. Does anyone know of a way to relocate the CHMSL camera to the rear of the topper?
I had the windshield replaced due to a crack and reinstalled with fuse taps and everything works as intended, no errors. In other news, if you run a TazerDT and need your truck recalibrated after windshield replacement, remember to remove it or the technician will just get errors over and over...
I was tapped into 33 and 66, power worked correctly, both while the engine was on and when it was off, just kept getting errors related to the automatic braking system and also a traction control system error if i remember correctly. As soon as I pulled the taps and put the fuses back where...
I did the fuse tap and while it worked both during driving and parking, I started getting errors with my automatic braking system. I restored the fuses to how they were originally and errors stopped, so I decided to forego the parking camera system and just installed using power from behind the...
so @securityguy , complete bonehead here. I can run a code blue, but wiring electronics is DEFINITELY not my strong suit. Installed a Viofo A129 Pro duo but want to wire it into my fuses.
IS this the right Viofo kit I should be using...
