Subscribing because this is happening to me when it's hot out in my '23. Most of the time I can't listen to USB on my ride home.
So there's no other ports in the truck that might work when it's hot out? I'll try to get them to replace the usb hub when I take it in for it's first service. I'm...
Update on my system: I had an amp, sub, and line converter installed and now it oddly will stay on the same track I leave it on. It often loses that I had it on random, but I'll take it. Not perfect though, because now I HAVE TO leave it on USB, or it will lose it's place. So if I am playing a...
I would look for a driveline shop in your area. Call them and see if they can fix it. Many can rebuild a driveshaft.
If you can't find one and want to order a new one, I would get one from Tom Woods. I just received a new custom DS for my 06 wrangler, it was $339. They would just need the...
I also don't really see the need to have two trucks that are so similar. Makes sense to eliminate the classic.
With inflation during the Biden term and post Covid, makes sense that less people want to commit to a new truck. I bought a fairly no frills new 2023 about four months ago and the...
My previous truck was an F150 with a nice spray on bed liner, nothing yet for the Ram. I had a 2X6 cut for the similar slots and it's too short (only by an inch or two). Just checking to see if it fits put some new scratches back there. Since 2X6's are now more expensive than they used to be...
I do this at least a few times per week in the morning when I get to work and haven't had my coffee yet... The most annoying part is when it goes to ACC mode. If you hit the start button again just once, the truck starts up. If you hit it twice fast, it will shut off.
I don't mind the...
One of the Facebook groups I belong to is great for 5th gen audio: 5th Gen Ram Audio Upgrades
Though they get a little snobby sometimes haha. The favorite boxes on there are the Fox boxes: FOX ACOUSTICS LLC
Lots of options for single sub, double, ported, sealed, etc. I was tempted to get one...
Most will want the 5' 7" bed. Especially if you've never had a truck before and not using it for work. I'm on my 3rd truck and always get the shorter bed. Just easier to get into parking spaces, backing out, parallel parking, etc. For the most part, if you don't have a need for the larger bed, I...
I got my amp and sub done yesterday at a local reputable shop. I ended up getting:
Infinity Kappa Five (5 ch) amp
JL 12" 12W1V3 - Downfiring sealed enclosure
Wavetech Link6
Previously installed by me:
4X Infinity Reference REF697F
2X Infinity Reference REF307F
Very happy with how it turned...
The B&O system in my wife's 2019 Expedition is actually pretty nice. Best OEM audio system I've ever heard. If my Ram sounded like that, don't think I'd replace it with aftermarket. One thing that I've always found interesting: B&O, Bose, HK and many of the others don't make aftermarket car...
That sounds like a good time to do this. I'll have to remember to do that when it's raining.
That makes sense. I'll start doing this. I've had it for 4 months and haven't hit that button yet.
For an OEM system, it's pretty good. My wife has the B&O system in her Expedition and that sounds pretty good as well.
I bought my '23 new 4 months ago. I was looking at deals on the leftover '23's in the area. Had to choose between one with the Alpine system and no tow package, or one with tow...
To those that are doing this: Are you doing it on dirt (not pavement)? It's not good to engage 4WD on dry pavement. I've had mine 4 months and haven't taken it off road yet. I have a Jeep for that.
More info in this thread: Base 6 speaker upgrade options?
I haven't done it yet. Debating whether I want to do it myself, or pay to have it done. PAC makes connectors to add amps or just subs. PAC – Connecting cars and technology. Your total installation solution.
I've had Jeeps for over 10 years, more of a Jeep thing. Never seen it catch on with any other vehicle. Even with Jeeps, many won't wave back. Pretty much only expect a wave if you are driving a modded Jeep and the other guy is also driving a modded Jeep. Wave to a bone stock Jeep and they are...
Subscribing, nice work! Started searching threads to see if I want to tackle installing an amp myself. Looking for simple ideas I might be able to re-produce. This would be the exact opposite of what I have in mind haha. There doesn't appear to be any duct tape in your setup.
I didn't know you could add an amp without having to run new wires to all the speakers. Which device would let me add an amp and a sub later? I'd probably do the amp first and then a sub later since it looks like an amp is much more affordable.
