I use the form a funnel to get the filter out on my wifes Infiniti. It is side mounted and over the frame. These engineers don't think about stuff like this.
The form a funnel does work great though.
To your question about when to re-coat, ask the person that painted it the truck. Only after finding out how they did it, can you determine when to coat.
Honestly I just pump the oil out from the top. Its easier on me, my back, and no mess. I then take a solo cup and after loosening the filter with my claw tool, I put the solo cup around the filter and spin it off catching all the oil.
Applying a ceramic is the same as anything else. Even coat, and wipe it off. Problem is prep is more important, so if you can't do a true machine polish, it might not look great.
The myth that you can't apply film over it is exactly that. You absolutely can, however I would prefer to film...
If that truly has any type of abrasives in it like a true polish would, stop doing it so often. Polishing can be overdone, as you are removing clear coat each application. Should only polish when you have to.
They do look alot better. I Like the blackout look and the price of the Morimotos, or I would have considered these too. I also wanted to save some cash after dropping $1250 on headlights.
PNS works really well. It used to be my go to before the spray on hose off products came out. Now I pretty much use only Sonax spray and seal or Gyeon wet coat. They are easy, and fast. I do it once every 4-6 weeks and it's all I need.
It is plug and play. If you want to see what they look like, look at any truck with LED headlights. They are everywhere. IMO the morimoto lights cost less and look better so buying the oem's is a tough sell to me. Especially if you are leaving the halogen headlights intact. Not sure why you...
After driving a subaru STI, with the worst paint on the planet, a rock chip or two doesn't bother me. I can see a case for PPF on the bumper and up the hood. Anywhere else for me is just a waste of money. I can hit my truck with my Rupes polisher and handle just about anything that comes along.
You have to spend your money how you see fit. I personally don't believe that spending that much makes sense. That film probably will need replaced before you hit the 8 year mark too so be prepared. You could have had a 2 step correction plus coating re-application done every 3-4 years or so...
It takes a day or two to break in in that spot. Once it does it basically stays in the gap of the gate and the bed. It never gets in the way. I love the rug. Have had it for 4 months now. It has seen downpours, sand, and lawn dirt, and cleaned right up.
