coming from body guy. One of the best ways to remove emblems intact is with An Air Hammer.......yes, its true.
3M makes an emblem/molding removal attachment, that goes in your air hammer. works slick as you know what.
then use a rubber eraser wheel to remove the remaining adhesive/2 sided...
I would be curious to trying a different sub with the stock amp. Ive taken the sub out to add polyfill and deadening (which helps) and after examining the stock enclosure, and sub Ive come up with this:
The Stock sub is super thin (Alpine System) One could make a 1"plus "spacer" ring for a new...
Totally understand what you are saying. Everything I did only made this truck/interior better. The 6x9's give off alot of bass, there is no more hollow resonating sound.
The sub with the poly fill and Deadening seems lower and cleaner. It's noticeable.
I totally think it's worth the work for...
Pop off 2 covers, 3-10mm screws, pop out window switch (leave the silver trim ring in the door) start pulling from bottom, then go to top. Be careful where the 2 panel pieces meet, easy to bust the plastic welds there...overall very straight forward panels, just be firm. They are built tough
To start off I have the Alpine stereo. I've always had high end aftermarket systems in all my vehicles. I was pretty impressed with the factory Alpine in my 19' Rebel. Loud, but just not clean enough. I knew this truck needed more Deadening material, and some poly fill in the sub enclosure...
Totally agree with your buddy. This system needs deadening material inside the doors and the trim panels.
This weekend I'm taking all 4 doors apart and spraying inner panel rust proofing in the bottom seams, and applying "Kilmat 80 mil" dynamat material all inside the doors and trim panels...
Yeah, they weren't too impressed the first day I pulled up, I really don't care. It's my money, and it's a better truck. The joke there is calling it a Fiat...I just say Fiat makes a hell of a truck.
The Swiss army tailgate has a major design flaw....if a customer has a hitch in their receiver...
absolutely. Im disappointed with the fuel economy. But Gas is cheap, so im not worried. And the power this thing has is worth every drop. I work at a GMC dealership in the bodyshop, Im around new GM's every day....driven every truck possible. The Ram is Superior. And the fact that the Ram has...
wow, you saved me a lot of money.
I was all set on getting 5" tips for my rebel, wasn't happy how the stock tips fit the openings. I never thought of adjusting them. Looks great.
I also have the molded Mopar Mud Gaurds, they fit awesome. Nice looking rebel, I love these trucks!
I love the ETorque. this is coming from a guy that drove a 1999 Chevy Tahoe for the last 15 years, and would never get a Hybrid/First model year truck......well I did all those things. That's how much I fell in Love with the new Ram the first time I drove one. Inititially it was the Looks of...
I originally looked at the 4, but read a lot of reviews of people saying they liked the 3 better. Whats your opinion on both? I definetly like the looks of the 3 more.
I've always been a weather tech guy...my 19' Rebel came with the molded rubber mats. The fitment is superb. Time will tell how they hold up, as mentioned about the softer rubber. I'm very happy with no so far in the Snowy, salt covered Midwest.
I Read all the posts about hard wiring in a fuzz buster in these trucks. And mounting with the mirror bracket (wasn't crazy about that)
I went the cordless route. Got a Solo S3.
I got a windshield mount bracket off of eBay, and "bent" the bracket to conform to the rear view mirror plastic...
awesome idea. Im new to the whole wireless charging. Does having a phone case on affect charging? I also have a thin metal plate on the back of my phone for my other vehicles that I have a magnetic phone mount.
great work, and thanks for the idea and pictures!
good write up.
The ability to have a "jacked up truck" then press a button and lower it down for ease of loading the box or passengers, clear a car wash or parking garage is absolutely priceless to me. I also tow a 6000lb travel trailer, and had experience with Air Ride air bags in the past...
you are correct. I'll probably never do this, like you said huge liability, but it is feasible.
Been playing on the snow covered roads more and more, best way to describe the traction off button, is a controlled slide. If you play with the throttle and get the sweet spot you can drift these...
So Ive been thinking. The fuse pulling idea, was my firt thought. I rember doing that for day time running lights in my Tahoe.
What if a guy made up a Fuse Switch? There would have to be some extra wires from the fuseblock to a dash mounted toggle switch, that was fused. Wondering if this...
