That's what I think it is. I think that etorque stops charging the battery give that 130 ft lbs boost for accelerating which causes that instant thump feeling. It's the closest explanation I can come to. Cause it feels like something is engaging or disengaging a load on the engine. I'd add that...
Well I'll give you the info I've gathered. Though nothing has lead me to a conclusion or proof on what exactly it is. If you're experiencing it, you'll notice it less once you've gotten everything up to operating temps. Youll notice that it does it randomly at any speed from 20-65. Youll notice...
I can't speak to any other year. On a 2024 they just come right back as soon as it hits 35 mph. I drove around for a bit with the scanner hooked up. No code unhooked the motor, code. It still doesn't matter as it's not a dash light. Just an alert through the app and a stored code.
For anyone viewing this in the future for 2024 1500. I confirmed alpha obd2 still causes it to throw a CEL when you disable the AAD. If you remove the motor. You can leave just the motor and arm that is attached directly to the motor on. It will not throw a code.
It operates like the ags. It...
That's kinda what he said. More that it'd just void the warranty of that specific part. I just wasn't expecting it to show up under the powertrain on the app. Thank God they overturned that stupid chevron law.
If the dealer is to be believed. He said a launch scanner can disable it. I ordered one of those instead of the alpha stuff. Mainly because I can use it around my job and on my wife's car. Just seemed like it'd be a good investment.
My main concern is not voiding the dealers lifetime...
I suppose I will when I get the scanner I ordered in. I mean unless a miracle happened. I didn't have an alert before. Took it off now I do. So it's more then likely the code for that air dam.
Before I left for work i went ahead and took the motor only and put it back on. So I'll see if that...
Hate to bring it up again on here. I removed the aad. No lights on the dash yet. Not sure if anything will show up on the uconnect screen. I removed it a couple days ago. Just now got a notification from the app on my phone.
I've seen folks saying mount just motor back on. Which I plan on...
So I got both front and rear done. I ended up doing the rear 2 times because of dirty it was. I wanted to get every bit of whatever it was out. A mechanic at my work said, they don't clean off the grease that the gears are packed in before filling the diff. I can believe that given the stuff...
Looks like the channel on YouTube was the Getty adventures. The title is just why your front differential always spins in 2wd. I wish he woulda mentioned something about the fluid. I figured might as well just change both. I believe the front is only 1.1 pints.
Thank you I woulda been wondering...
Lol i haven't done it yet I ordered the stuff yesterday. The reason I wanna go ahead and do the front with the rear. My understanding is even though it's not in 4x4 the front diff still turns on these 1500s. Watched some videos about it yesterday. He put a gopro under the truck and the front...
I believe it said antispin rear differential. To my knowledge they are the same thing. I don't have the window sticker beside me right now. But on the ram app it says my options. As far as I know it's correct.
I guess that's correct I'm learning all this new. The owners manual doesn't say to use it on the front. Just says on the rear 3.21 and rear 3.55. It's not up to date from what I understand. Amsoil has recommendations on the different gears as well. For instance with or without lsd.
It looks like on amsoil, they say to still add 5 oz of the mopar limited slip additive. For a 2024 1500 bighorn with 3.21 diff. It also says the capacity is 4.2 pints. If I'm mathing correctly. That means total it'll be 4.5 pints, 4.2 being 75w-90, and .3 pints of the mopar slip additive?
Also...
2024 ram 1500. This has happened a few times now. Probably would be more but I only drive her on the weekends. I also haven't had to use the ac a whole lot because of Tennessee crazy weather as of late.
Anyways, I can have the ac running the climate control will randomly shift the temp to 78...
I could be over thinking it. A couple times it was a roughly rough snap. Others you can really tell the difference between it and small bumps in the road. The truck definitely doesn't have any updates other then just what a 2024 comes with stock. I was able to look it up through the ram website...
So pretty sure you're on to something there. I did the thing with the gears on the steering wheel. Didn't do it once. Took it off paid attention to the eco thing it'd do it almost every time. Ima let the dealer deal with it. It only has 1200 miles on it.
