I had the TSB performed in October of 2021, which seemed to correct it. Now the issue has returned about 3 months ago and appears to be getting worse (louder and more noticeable) each day. Especially when backing or turning into my sloped driveway. Wanted to add that the TSB was performed at...
Is the “sound of BBs” coming from the compressor? If so, then you may have a bad compressor or a low freon condition, which would explain no decrease in temperature when you turn on the AC.
This is true. Problem is just like someone here already mentioned, you’re fighting physics. Even though the blend door isolates the airflow from the heater core, the heater core is still radiating heat to the plenum and airflow ducting. A HCV or “the hack” keeps the core from heating up at all...
Yep, more pleats equals more surface area and more sound deadening👍. I am very pleased with this STP filter. STP makes two, one with carbon and one without. Reviews mention that the one with carbon is more restrictive, so I went with the one without. Airflow is great and sound is quiet 😊
Just installed the STP. Initially it looks more restrictive than the OEM, however it has more pleating which means more surface area for airflow. Dimensions are exactly the same. I tried performance with old filter, then no filter, and finally with new filter. I also used a decibel meter during...
My theory on the issue you mention above is that since you leave the valve open a little, the heater core temperature eventually heats up due to coolant flowing through it. Once the core is heated, that heat is saturating your plenum and also some of that heat is getting by the internal blend...
When I inspected my filter yesterday, I could see the blend door and actuator just a few inches above the filter. The air inlet for recirc is high in the dash, behind the upper glove box area.
I picked up this STP filter for ~$20 from autozone yesterday evening. Probably get it installed today...
I concur with your thought. My understanding is that the filter is directly before the evaporator coil. So all airflow goes through the filter to protect the coil, regardless of whether in recirc or fresh.
I’m not 100% sure on this Ram because I haven’t needed to change the filter yet. But on...
Not sure about resale value on all JL models, however you can’t go wrong the 392XR. The beast is a blast to drive and pretty smart purchase too with its rising value. I ordered mine in June 2022, recieved it in December 2022 and trade in values are now about $14K over what I paid. I’ve even had...
Sorry you are having to deal with this. I know this suggestion only deals with the least important of the issues you mentioned, but you may need to check your navigation settings to remedy the sound randomly cutting out. What I noticed is that when the navigation announces the next turn, it...
Welcome back!! Nice truck and I see you have the 3:92 gears, definitely gives this truck some pep!!
I couldn’t agree more that the Ram is way more comfortable than a wrangler. In my experience, the Ram is way more comfortable than most vehicles (including high end luxury vehicles like MB, etc)...
