ANC has been disconnected via the harness that a vendor sells - can't remember name right now. I really did not notice much difference at all with and without ANC.
Yes - I did have to cut out a portion of the plastic panel behind the speaker. There is an indentation where the factory speaker magnet fits. I cut out that circle with an oscillating tool and the faital's drop in. They are just a little deeper than the factory speaker, but still have the...
Iirc, the HAT stuff is rather inefficient for use with the stock amp. That is why I chose the faital's, they are very efficient as are the CDT's. It is actually louder and sounds better than stock. The faitals took a little work to integrate properly, but not a big deal. Let me know if you...
Sorry for the slow respopnse - have not been on here in a while. I did move forward on this and posted here - https://5thgenrams.com/community/threads/h-k-audio-upgrade-vast-improvment.20790/
to describe what I did and the results. I am very pleased thus far. Night / day difference honestly...
Polyfill helps by making the speaker act as though it is in a bigger enclosure. I think the HK sub is worthless, but I did not try the polyfill. Try it and let us know your thoughts.
The 6x9's were the last thing I did and the difference was literally night and day. I'd do the 4 6x9's and see what you think, then expand from there. You will be happy either way I think.
The faitals were $33.00 each shipped free from parts express. The CDT's were $96 a pair iirc on their website. So about $475.00 in the mids / highs. I also got the respective plugs and soldered them on the speakers. The box was $460 shipped and I had the subs and amp already. The only...
I just got done doing some upgrades to my audio system and figured I'd throw the info out there in case there was interest.
To start, I have a 2020 Limited with H/K. I can't believe they would put a system in that level of truck that sounded that bad. The subwoofer is a piece of garbage -...
Hi All,
I am in the process of replacing the speakers in my system. I am disconnecting the awful subwoofer and replacing it with 2 13TW5's in an MTI box running off a JL1200/1. I plan to replace the mids/highs with Faital Pro 3FE22 full range 3" speakers.
I am going to run the factory amp on...
Mine did the same thing at about 6:30 PM yesterday. Came up just as I was getting out to go into Target. I ok'd and it was done when I came out. Not sure what changed.
My truck was not subject to the AEM. It covered up to 2016 iirc. The issues are with reliability. Like I said, for the vast majority of my ownership I was very happy with the truck. MPG was my only disappointment. For me it was both a work AND personal vehicle. I could not afford to be...
I loved mine at first too. Summer of 2018 I was getting 28 MPG. That disappeared that winter and never came back. 21 is the best I got recently. Glad I paid $1 more per gallon for diesel. The ecodiesel is riddled with issues. There is an active recall because the EGR cooler cracks, leaks...
Hi All,
Just bought my 2020 Limited yesterday. Got a smokin' deal on it. Traded in my 2018 Ecodiesel - because while I liked most everything about the truck, the engine is a piece of crap. Hopefully this one works out better.
