Are you saying to remove that 10mm nut that this charging clamp is presently on in the picture, and then remove the ground strap from top of the IBS ??
Those are normal hot weather towing temps up long grades (5.5% for me) that I have experienced last year towing 7k# @ 24’. I don’t see any issue with it using full synthetic 0w20 in my 2022 that is recommended. The earlier models (prior 2022) have 5w20 oil requirements. Some here choose to run a...
I live in SE Wisconsin and when I sold my 2011 Ram 1500 Sport (plastic front facia) in 2021 with 179K miles it had no body rust top or underneath, and little to no drivetrain rust underneath. Yes, it was winter driven. The guys that bought it couldn’t believe how clean it was when I had it on my...
The OP is asking about Hellwig because his first post says “small bit of sway at times” with new larger V nose 7.5x14 when compared to the previous 7x12 that was rock solid. Now that he has Hellwig installed, he’ll probably find it won’t reduce this sway as I initially posted.
Dropping the...
I did the 7/100 Maximum Care for $1,655. I’m towing a 7k# trailer 11k miles on a 15K yearly total. Considering the truck retailed over $63k I found this a wise option and hope I never need to use it.
Great numbers proving the dealer provided synthetic oil, factory MO-339 filter and following the oil change counter works.
Are your intentions to keep driving this truck? Obviously you put on a great amount of miles yearly compared to most.
Have you had the transmission fluid changed??
I used Mobil 1 75w140 and Mopar 4318060AC Limited Slip Additive - 4 oz bottle in my 2011 Ram at 107k miles that had the same 3.92 gearing and limited slip diff as this 2022. This was towing 7k# 40% of those miles. That 2011 Ram had 179k miles when I switch to this new 2022. No diff problems.
SnowBlaZR2, excellent thread on safely towing max truck weight+ with trailer.
My question is about the Cooper AT3 LT275/55-20 tires you installed that replaced the Bridgestone Dueler that came with the truck. Are these Cooper tires as quiet as the BS Dueler driving 65+ mph?? How many miles on...
I purchased the Hellwig when I got my truck new prior to towing because it was cheap and everyone raved about it. My 2011 Ram didn’t have Hellwig and did fine towing the same 7k# 24’ x 8.5’. This 2022 tows exact same and I’m using the 20” Dueler tires that came on the truck inflated to 42# now...
If you need less spring bar tension, you remove washers from head swivel. You need to play with this adjustment to get the truck front to sit properly. Front of truck needs to be lower with trailer attached. If you don’t have hitch instructions they have them at the link I posted. Lastly...
I have a Drawtite that allows the head to be rotated to adjust the spring bar tension similar to Fastway. If you need more spring bar tension, loosed head mounting bolts and add washers to the bolt between the head and shank to rotate the head rearward. This drops the spring bars and give you...
You should be able to measure from the ground up to a frame rail or some distinguishable line on the trailer front and rear to determine trailer level. If not, place a short level on the front trailer rail going to the ball coupler and set to level.
With trailer level not attached to truck...
You made the wise financial choice keeping what you have (and not going backwards) imho, especially if you have to finance to own. Consider working on paying cash for the next purchase as a new goal if you are unable to now.
The noise cancelling works well for me in my 2022 Laramie with HK especially when towing and using 7+ as max gear. The interior is very quiet with no sound playing. I play most favorite music through usb jump drive Wav formatted. Sounds Great to me. That’s why I purchased the stereo upgrade, but...
OMG….. in 2022 and prior if you can’t afford/ want a non-eTorque V8, so you get stuck with this 60+# contraption in a V6….Geezee ..lol. The new EV model will improve mpg for sure….lmao
I agree with you not wanting the eTorque. I didn’t want it either when looking for new 2021 and that’s all that remained on the lots in late August 2021. Glad I ordered a 2022 and got it the way I wanted. They also include eTorque in the V6 for 2023. What a shame.
If you still have a 3 yr old factory battery in your 5th Gen Ram you’ve got the best 3 yrs out of it imho. A 5yr warranty same size replacement at minimum would be a wise choice.
If my truck sits for more than 4 days now in the cold the battery meters below 12.10 v when checked.
My truck is 15...
