From a purely business standpoint, I'm honestly shocked that the Big 3 haven't ditched Detroit for Mexico or southern states years ago. All parties seem to be just fine with the antagonistic relationship between the companies and the UAW and it makes *zero* business sense.
Per a quick google, LiON batteries are somewhere in the vicinity of $100/kwh, which would put the large battery pack at around $23k just for the battery pack.
Given the inflation we've seen in Ram's pricing over the past few years, I'd expect to see at least a ~$20k upcharge over the equivalent...
I think it's a slightly underwhelming midcycle update, but Ford continues to show substantially more development than Ram.
I was sort of expecting Ford to come out with a PHEV, though, since that's an untapped market in the truck realm. Maybe they're saving that for the F-200 or for the next...
The way I see it, Ram was at the front of the 1500 market from 2018-2022 with the DT, but is now stale.
Including the HD models, Ram doesn’t have as many models as, say, Ford. The F-Series contains 8 different models from the F-150 through the F-600, including chassis cabs and the Lightning...
Over the course of 94 fillups on my '19 with the 33 gallon tank, I hit the fuel low warning 8 times. My largest fillup was 31.291 gallons, with the smallest of my top 30 fillups being 29.089 gallons.
I watched the livestream presentation at the NYIAS today. Specs from Car and Driver, so I don't have to type them all out: With 500-Mile Range, 2025 Ram 1500 REV Wants to Be Your Pickup Truck.
While the specs are nice, I'm rather disappointed that Ram is taking so long to get this to market...
With those specs, I'm guessing the standard range model will start at $110k and the long range will start at $130k.
While the specs are nice, I'm disappointed that there isn't any *groundbreaking* tech about this truck and it's taking Ram so long to bring it to market. 800v charging isn't new...
I'm pricing out options for a potential purchase likely this fall/winter, so while I know pricing will change between now and then, would you be able to provide a pricing breakdown for this vehicle?

Given that you've got a Limited, I presume the ~$70k price point isn't a problem for you.
GC 4xe if you want to stay in the Stellantis family. Hyundai Palisade or Kia Telluride if you want a comparitively bargain priced loaded non-PHEV, non-luxury SUV. The upcoming '24 4xe version of the...
My lifetime mpg is in my sig with about a 60/40 mix of city/highway miles. I had a V6 '19 Longhorn with everything but ORG for a bit over 3 years and drove with a light foot in a hilly area. I did not tow.
If I were to buy another Longhorn, I'd get the diesel.
By all accounts, the original, since deleted, article is wrong.
Anyways, I'm all aboard the PHEV hype train. I currently have a Sorento PHEV (got it in late '21 when I needed a 3rd row in a pinch) and, despite this particular drivetrain implementation having some flaws, I think it's the way to...
I don't have it anymore, but my truck was Stormageddon II, The Darker Lord of All. My current Kia Sorento is Stormageddon III, The Darkerer Lord of All; Stormy for short.
Shopify is an ecommerce website company that is the leader in that game. If you've shopped on a non-global company's ecommerce website, there's a pretty good chance you've shopped on a site built on Shopify.
That aside, while their code is excellent and I use them for a few of my companies with...
I'm not at all an opponent of fossil fuel and didn't say I was... 🤷
I like gas, I like diesel, and I like the performance of an electric engine even more. I specifically didn't mention the state of charging since that's been hashed and rehashed here as nauseam, but a PHEV is going to be a...
In my current use case with my Kia Sorento PHEV, it's certainly theoretically possible. I generally get ~28 miles of EV range (highway or city, as far as I've been able to tell over the last 5 months of ownership, it's about the same) per full charge, and a full charge takes about 3.5 hours on...
I needed a 3rd row, so I traded in my '19 for a Kia Sorento PHEV late last year. Besides some bugaboos in terms of Kia's implementation of the PHEV powertrain (ie, the electric motor is underpowered, Kia didn't use an electric heat pump, and the programming sets the ICE engine to kick in under...
I don't have my '19 anymore (changing life circumstances late last year necessitated me switching to a 3 row SUV), but I'll likely be back in a truck when the lease on this is up in a few years.
When I was looking at trucks in 2018, I looked at all but the Tundra. The Tundra was just too old...
