The air suspension has big advantages as a day-to-day truck and for carrying big loads.
However, there are very few mods. Fancy Fox or King shocks won't work. There are no springs that can be changed. The 'level' kits that work by faking out the ride height sensor do it at the expense of wheel...
FCA didn't publish any Rebel-specific height data in the 2019 Ram 1500 Specs. I'm trying to determine if the Rebel has 1" of suspension lift making it 1.5" taller than a non-Rebel or 1" taller, implying the suspension is only lifted 1/2".
The difference is the 1/2" in height gained from going...
Then Daystar works with the air suspension??? Did you take pictures of that?
But to go back to @d_THRILL's original question, and assuming a Ridge Grappler, the answer is probably a 285/50-22. That is the OE 22" width. At 33.5", it only brings the body 3/4" closer to the tire.
A 295/50-22...
As long as they are properly inflated you should be ok. With something between 600 and 900 lb tongue weight, you will be near the manufacturer's payload spec, especially if you have a full cab.
If it is towing on a rough road with broken pavement (which would heat the tire) on a dry hot day...
The 4100 lb limit seems to be a function of the tires. However, the wheels also have a limit of 4500-to-5000. Since an even bed load in a 5-7 is more or less even around the rear tires, and the empty weight there is 2400-2700, with the right wheels and tires an owner could probably get away with...
Another update on the Max Towing rear axle. This from Truck Trends when it was announced:
I have no idea why they felt they needed an extra 1" larger ring gear size. If they thought it was a failure point a change in metallurgy, surface finishing, and cryogenic treatment should have been able...
Not me, but:

Note: the Nitto Terra Grappler G2 (and Ridge Grappler) are 305/45R22 118S XL, that can be important because most AT tires are LT, stiffer, and run at higher pressures. For 20" wheels they have a 305/50-20 (a little shorter) and 305/55-20 (a little taller, in metric and LT construction)
The...
Ram 1500 is on page 111 to page 132

The point is the Hensley/ProPride are close enough to a fifth wheel you never notice.
I usually tow in the right lane and it was a right-side tire...so I don't watch that mirror that much. My guess is it shredded pretty quickly. I never even suspected.
A 285/65-20 is massive, 3860@80psi, However, the ram is rated for 2305 lb which would be 38psi. Even the max load of the Moto Metal MO970 in that size is only 2500 lb. The pressure at that load is 43psi. I doubt anything higher would be beneficial.
On the LT275/65 corresponding numbers would be...
Update since the first post:
1) There is an SAE standard for GCVW: J2807. First used on Toyotas, it is now widely used. It is the reason the 3.21 axle ratio is marked down on GCVW. However, I haven't found an equivalent for payload and many manufacturer's don't publish their GVWR with their...
The 1500 air bag kits nearly all replace the jounce bumper inboard of the spring. The Firestone Ride-Rite replaces the spring. Planting the air bags closer to the wheel gives them a greater impact on roll resistance.
However, an air bag is not a WDH replacement.
A great tire size. 34.3" tall, 11.8" wide. The 18" wheels leave over an 8" tall sidewall...very impressive with a ready for action look while actually being ready for action.
But why did you go to 0 offset wheels moving the tires 19mm/.75" further out? The tire should have fit with OE offset...
