This looks like a high pressure mark, with enough PSI a pressure nozzle will cause burn-like marks on softer materials. Also even though it is water, the friction heat can be rather intense.
I can see that, the city mpg is not much better and the resale is rough.
I owned a 2014 Crew 2wd with 3.55s and the 3.6 overall I loved it, I towed with several times and it never let me down. the one thing I hated, was the engine sound, I just could not get used to it.

Yes I have the 33 Gal tank and I am very happy with it as with any long trips it really does not need to be filled up often.
My truck does this, but only when applying the breaks and if there is a bump or uneven surface. I figured out it was the ABS activating on the rear right wheel.
I can't think of any vehicle that I have owned that does a good job of this.
That said, my Ram does not clear much at all I would think it would do a little better, but eh it what it is.
I feel ya on the transmission, had it been better I might have kept the truck but I just could not stand how it shifted. The Ram 8spd is way way better and consistent.
My truck before my 2020 Ram was a 2016 GMC Sierra SLT with 5.3 and 8spd.
